If that's coco, you should be feeding already. I start my seeds in a 300ppm (0.6ec) nute mix just to keep the coco's CEC happy. Once you get a few nodes, or they show signs of being hungry, you can start upping the ec.

Nutes at this stage are basically for the coco. Keep it at 0.4 - 0.6 ec and you won't burn the little youngsters.

Thanks outlier, what does coco 'CEC' stand for? Are you saying the coco needs nutrients as well as the plant itself?
I've just fed them, i put in about 1/10 of the recommended dose of canna coco a+b and golden tree. ph was 5.8 and ppm was 95, i started off with an extra low ppm because they are stunted seedlings and i've only just put them in 1ltr pots yesterday so don't want to stress them out too much.. Added to that i've just put them under a 600w MH. Does this sound good to you or should i up the dosage? Im just being very cautious, this is my first grow in coco and i dont want any more f ups

CEC = Cation Exchange Capacity. Here's a good read on the subject: http://maximumyield.com/blog/2015/0...tion-exchange-capacity-in-coco-growing-media/

Simply put, yes you need to also "feed the coco". And more importantly, keep it fed (maintain the buffer). I would up the ec to 0.6 (300ppm on the Hanna scale) and only ever go below that if you have major salt issues and need to leech it out.

Some other great threads on icmag too in the coco section. Well worth the time spent IMVHO. Good luck! :bigjoint:

Great read! I'm going to up the ppm to 300 tomorrow. Looking forward to see how they react to the nutrients i gave them tonight! Peace :weed:
