When to Start - Slammin Pie

Having never grown a photo before I am not sure where to start. In northern Central NY we have a short growing season (4b). I have some seeds I got at a dispensary a couple years ago in Vegas and I figured I would just see what happens and do an outdoor grow. With the season being so short, I want to start them inside. The date when we generally plant outside and feel safe about frost is about 1 week after Mother's Day. So like May 21st. My thought is to start them in my grow tent and then transplant them outside. The breed is called "Slammin Pie" by Dark Horse. I haven't found even one serious review about this strain, so I have little to go on.

How might I approach this? When should I germinate?

Here is about the only info I could get on the strain: https://www.stealthyseeds.com/dark-horse-genetics/slammin-pie

Germinate now according to your folk lore and method. You can sex them in the tent then transplant females.

It's the ambiguous finish time huh? One might expect indica dominant strains to finish faster, but likely description of effects. Using the F2 male likely has differences in finish time among the seeds. Some fast some take longer.
If you are growing at home, in the earth, expect it to get past head high and as wide as your arms. Possibly bigger. Support will be needed.
If in large pots will be smaller and get root bound quick.
Both methods you should be able to protect them from late season rains. PVC hoops and plastic for instance. Or start depping in July to finish faster. There will be a time in Sept you won't have to pull tarps anymore.
Keep an eye on late season moths. They bring the bud rot.
If no mold, it should be somewhat rain resistant. Might let it go till it dries out if needs more time.

And have a back up plan. Late May or even first week of June cold temps can stress and trigger flowering. Sometimes they grow out of it, but lost time. Sometimes not and need to replace.
