Which Blend of Fox Farm Soil is Best?

I was planning on using Fox farm soil for my first grow because everyone on here raves about how great it is... but then i looked it up online and there are like 3 or 4 kinds. I was going to use the Happy Frog, is one better than another? I am growing autos inside in a cabinet under 8 2ft T5 bulbs. I don't know if the environment maks a differance to which is better.

light warriors good because feeding is good so you can ph your water. with o.f. theres shit there that you didnt put there your kind of praying. it does work but if you want to add nutes and ph your water go with lw

My first indoor grow was with FOXFARM OCEAN SOIL mixed with 30% perlite , 3 weeks into veg, i flipped to 12/12 , and 2 weeks later I added the first dose of fert. which was FOXFARM TigerBloom, some strains that are fert sensitive can go all the way through to harvest without any ferts in FOXFARM OCEAN soil, I've grown 2 harvests that way with Mandala #1 and Mandala Satori while using FOXFARM OCEAN SOIL. Where I live at you can buy a bag as cheap as $15.00, it's good stuff, I would say the best soil for a beginner.

i have read that autoflowers don't need much in the line of nutes... but i was planning on using some. what is good to mix with the Fox Farm soil to make it a little more airated? I was going to use peralite or a little peat moss...

lw got perlite put a little more in the bottom to drain well. you need nutes in the water or the ph will swing easily(in the jug) so i like to add nutes and get a good ph i know whats going on in there and if you do overdose its only one feeding you can flush it quick do that with o.f, and you just have extra nute to deal with the water thing is key playing with ph levels youll get it

i think i am going to use the light warrior and mix it with the big and chuncky perlite... it says it is best for germination and since i am growing autos... i really need to get the best start possible... when should i start givving it nutes and what kind? should i use anything like voodoo juice, or big bud?

Happy frog or ffof. My ffof is great!
Exactly! Some people even mix Happy frog and Ocean Forest together 50/50 with good results. I am a big fan of adding Guano to the mix, because i don't think Fox Farms soils were designed to have enough phosphorus for MJ. A little extra perlite is a common addition too.

this is my first grow so i don't want it to be too comlpicated. Plus everything i have read on autoflowers tell you to be careful not to over nute... they say autos don't need much for nutes?

If you're gonna run lucas formula 3-part, at least use the basic recomendations of the hobby level feeding programs, itll be big difference in yield and in quality, 3-part is fine, but its a base, everything else you need to make it great is on the shelf, just use it properly, some things you will buy and will last the year, and its worth every penny.

But hey what do I know?

Right on point. Even with autoflowering, you are supplying what it wants within the period it needs it, it starts flowering? it needs phosphorous to build more bud sites, etc no matter what a plant's flowering process is, there are some basics that you can really help it out with if you use them, even in sparing amounts.

thanks for all the info guys. i am not sure what you are talking about when you say 2 part and 3 part? is this a product? or is this just a term? i am very new to this. my experiance with growing is getting cow shit and tilling it up with topsoil planting seeds and watering a garden. i do get some nice squash and other veggies, but i am a blank canvas when it comes to growing weed. Right now i have a high output T5 2' 8bulb grow light on order. i have 4 8" pots that look to be somewhere between 5 & 8 liters. i was planning on using fox farm light warrior and mix it with the chunky perlite and maybe add in a little guanno. I am now leaning towards using grow big about a 4 or 5 days after it starts to sprout out of the soil and then use big bloom after it starts to bloom... then i was planning on using filtered water to flush for the last week, watering lightly once a day. is there anything else i should add to this? oh i was planning on a 20/4 light sch.

Do not buy into the hype, if you can grow veggies do what you know and you'll be great in no time, it is just a plant if you have good gardening skills/habits do not throw them out the window because of forum hype/myths
