Which growing medium should I use?

So I've been wondering about which soil-less growing medium is the best for a small indoor grow. Ive got one plant in a little hydro setup and another 6 in a 50% coco fiber and 50% perilite mixture that a friend of mine recommended. Im just basically looking for opinions in which direction I should put my next cycle.
