Which light source is more intense? (survey + animation)

Which has more lumens, green or blue?

So I made this animation. One fixture is multiple lights that equal the same lumens as the other fixture, but only one light source.

The question, then, is which seems more intense/bright/better. Green or blue? It's that easy.

The animation is 1.55 MB. Be patient.



(the green one starts on the left and ends there)

Whichever one ends on the left is more intense ...according to your animation.
What's the point of all this? Sweet animation, BTW! Do you work for Pixar?

This has nothing to do with spectrum comparison. They are identical. The only difference between lights is intensity, as stated.

The green/blue refer to the hood colors as you may be able to make out at the start of the animation. I also explained which is which among the two.

Your animation does not prove anything.


Research has to have practical application in mind.


So in other words; post grow pictures proving your ideas not animations that give a theoretical representation of what you're trying to prove.

Its like when people post pictures of their grow cabinet "Plans". No one actually cares until they see plants going in the actual cab.

Yeah, HIDs emit a lot of useless radiation.... CFLs are on point, but watt - for - watt/gram - for - gram, there is no comparison.

HID > CFL

It certainly does. It is practical. The distance between light source and surface diminish over time, until the animation restarts.

You take several months to get results. I use models, and get results backed by research.

They're physically accurate. Rendered with mental ray. One of the most advanced, realistic, platforms developed for 3D CGI.

Some people clearly care. They just might seem to have a different level of 'sense' than yourself.

So far, the poll shows that human eyes are having a hard time relating!
Am I supposed to put this animation in front of my plant and see what it says?

Huzzah! Coming from a self-proclaimed Mensa member, that means a lot! I know it must get lonely at the top.
