Im gonna ether use a Purple Heart from alpha kronik or a bubba kush x slyme cookies. Never have grown a Purple Heart female though. All the receiving females are 50/50 or indica dom.

If you dont have many males to choose from.
Pretty much choose which male you like, and decide why. Take note of its traits. Then run with it.
Look for those same traits in the next generation of male seeds. Choose the same traits again. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat infinity. Basically.
Very simplified explanation, but you get the drift.

I like smells when choosing parent plants myself. Smells usually give a good indication, of flavours.

Plenty of other things to consider too. Like structure, colours, growth rates, node spacing, leaves etc.

Basically the choice is subjective. Choose which qualities YOU like. Then stick to your guns, and choose the same traits in future generations.

I personally err on the side of not inbreeding as much as you can as well.
