White Papaya & Purple Queen

i popped a couple of seeds early spring, and once they were big enough for outside, they were placed among the garlic.

sharing with a few insects... i don't spray anything so you get what you get. hoping for vigor and usually that's enough for plants to survive minor munches.

now THESE fuckers are annoying. spotted lanternfly nymphs. i'm dreading the moths that are coming soon and will attempt to put the bed under insect netting.

and white papaya. nets are going up next week as they are just about to flower. i will interplant broccoli lettuces in this bed at the end of the month.

update: white papaya is on the struggle bus. not sure what's going on; most all top branches look like this...

her bed-mate, purple queen, looks better but she is also showing lots of yellow leaves.

I wouldn't worry about the yellow leafs yet. Just the plant using a touch less nitrogen now. They look very nice. The purple queen looks like it will be fun to watch flower.
