White Rhino Scrog and Random Bagseed

Hello all, I will be growing White Rhino from greenhouse seeds and some random bagseed lollipops this grow. Currently there is also a catnip plant inside the tent along with the others. I will be growing with a 400 watt hps and the temps never go above 84 degrees.

The White Rhino is being difficult and not wanting to come completely out of her shell yet. "Camera Shy I guess" But the others have began to grow. The white rhino will be grown in a 16gal bubble container and the bagseed will be grown in solo cups. They all took 48 hours to show tap root so I planted them. This is day 1 of my new grow with them planted.

Here we have the White Rhino that is taking her sweet time coming out of her shell.

Here is one of the bagseeds. Life has begun.

Here is the other bagseed that is still trying to break free.

I topped the catnip so I can make it grow bushy, that was 2 days ago and the plant is starting to show new growth.

Here is a full plant shot of the catnip.

Things are going well, temps don't go above 81 degrees with lights on and around 77 with lights off and the plants are seeming to love it. The white rhino is taking a little longer than expected to rise up, but she is on here way. I think she should open up by tomorrow.

So today is day 4 and on day 2 I believe, I had accidentally broke off the cotyledon of my white rhino plant trying to take off the seed shell that refused to come off. Needless to say she is healing "slowly" but I'm sure she will recover quite nicely and grow up to be big and strong. One of the bagseeds are growing quite nicely and the other, well, Idk what to say it's doing. Looks kinda retarded.

So I am having a bit of an issue with my temperature gauge. I don't believe it is reading properly. I have tried every kind of position that I can think of and at first when I covered it with a piece of cardboard it was around 79 degrees but now it's at 85 or above. I can place my hand on my cool tube without it burning me, so right under the lights its perfectly fine and maybe just a little warm at the most.

What temperature gauge would someone, anyone, recommend?

A digital thermometer with a probe will probably do better at accurate readings than a temperature gauge, in direct light. I think the gauges get thrown out of calibration when they get too much radiant heat.

Yea, I said screw it and replaced it with a basic thermometer. Put it right by my plants and it stays at 81 degrees. I'm satisfied with that.

Decided to post another update on my plants. My main white rhino plant hasn't been doing so well, but I let her continue to grow to see if she would recover. She is just now coming along and I have faith that she will be ok. However, I had decided to go ahead and switch light cycle to 12/12 since the bagseed has been growing quite nicely and I have grown tired of waiting to see what the white rhino was going to do. But anyways, here are some pics.

Bagseed is still continuing to grow nicely and the white rhino has gained a pretty good new root system and she has already started to show preflowers. This grow will not end up being a scrog like I had originally planned, but at least I will have some bud to smoke at the end. One of the bagseeds really seem like she is sativa dominate since she is real lanky. I have trained her to keep her about the same height as the other one, but she is flowering real nice. Going on 2.5 weeks I believe. I can't really remember.
But anyways, here are some pics. Sorry about the quality of some, the hps was on and I didn't feel like moving them out.

White rhino is becoming lanky since the light is so high. I have the other "lollipop" plants sitting on top of my DWC.
