White spots on leaves it is NOT Mildew please read PICS included!

Plants are clones. 3 weeks old.

weeks 1-2 250 watt HPS

week3 switched to UFO 80w led

week4 switched to new 250HPS due to elongation and poor results.

My girls all look healthy. Growing in soil. Most of the leaves have white spots on them. The leaves themselves are healthy, it is almost like where the spots are, something has sucked out the chlorophyl.

The only thing is I misted the plants while under the LED. When I mist under HPS, never had a problem for the most part. I am worndering if the LED light burned the plants where the drops of water were.

Also when I first got the clones, they were yellowing. Based on my deccription page from the internet, they looked magnesium deficient. I watered with epsom salt water for a few days and they greened right up. Magnesium is white, and I admit I fed them more than I thought was good. So its possible its too much magnesium. unsure.

It is NOT mildew. I am 80 degrees plenty of fans. It is not powerdery. It is not on top of the leaves, it is in the leaf.

Also most new growth does not seem to have the spots like the other leaves.

Should I be concerned? These leaves will all be dropped by the time I flower, as they are just youngins right now.

you shouldnt mist em under HID, or atleast wait until they are dry before lights on.

If new leaves arent effected then it probably has stopped.

Cal-mag or molasses (2tbs/gal) will fix it.

I had this on one of my plants as well, I'll give that a try just in case.

thats exactly (well, your picture is kind of fuzzy, so almost exactly) what spider mites look like...

and they are very very bad

I also thought that at first about mine. I was like SHIT.
but then I sprayed them all down with boiled garlic and nothing so far.. watered them and I don't see the spotting either. Weird.

If you forgot or neglected to water your plants at any point recently, they will often times mirror what looks like a calcium deficiency. If not, I'd definitely say it's a calcium deficiency.

I've got to say , to me it looks like spider mites.. Although the pictures are rather fuzzy!
I'm currently at war with some and that's the same signs my plants are showing (All on a very nice dose of veg nutes (I'm rather certain they aren't cal def) maybe not to that extreme but very close to.

Give a look for spider mites, you wanna get em under control or rid of them before they become a HUGE problem, if not then what has been said above, Cal deficiency!

look for the little bastards under every leaf, they are very small and tan or rust color

Yup yup. I use molasses ever watering. Even threw harvest gives the plant something to live on for that last 2 weeks of flushing. Go on and do that and i bet you will have better success with your plants

I would have also said spider mites, but these details made me reconsider:

Spider mites attack new leaves too, but in a cal def, because calcium is mobile, new growth remains unaffected.

I would say spider mites too. But the pics are a bit blurry. Spider mites are not that mobile until they build their webs, they will colonise on one leaf at a time. They will suck the juices from the underside of your leaves, leaving those little spots you see. If you get the webs, you've left it a bit long too treat.

Spider mites themselves are easy enough to kill, it is their eggs that are the problem! And that is why they often just keep coming back.

you have thrips get a prythin bomb..............................Your leaves look like mine...............I had thrips

or maybe fungus gnats? They make mine looks very much like that.....

guaranteed, mites or thrips.........

Problem: your picture is blurry... post a clear one and youll know for sure....

Well theres something crawlin around on the bottom of the leaves. DAMMIT! I have never had these before. I usually grow from seed. These clones came from an unbathed mountain dude, so I guess I should have seen it comin!

Okay so it's bad. I also found what looks like spider webs tiny tiny and not much but I see it. like a silkworm.

So how the F do I get rid of these things without hurting my girls? Can I use a predetor like ladybugs or preying mantis babies??? I would prefer not to spray them with something that kills. My friend once used a fish spray, killed the bugs but it smelled like a Oakland hooker 10 days past a bath!

Also I have tried molasses a few crops and I never noticed a difference. It never hurt, so perhaps I will try it again.

Listen to all these guys. Notice how many folks have chimed in and count the # of us who have said mites compared to those who said nutrient issues. Your choice. Cold Pressed Neem oil and dish soap works as well, but do not spray w/ lights on. Luck
