White Widow CFL tent grow. (First attempt) Grow Journal w/pics

This is my first attempt on growing and would like to make a journal and get input from the community. I have 2 white widow seeds, one I planted 11-17-12 and the other is still currently germing(fingers crossed). I planted the first germinated seed in a cup with drainage about half an inch down. Miracle Grow moisture control soil was used because that's all I had. I plan on using Jack's Classic 20-20-20 nutrient in a couple of weeks to help with vegging. I am using 8 CFL's mounted above the plant(adjustable) about 1 inch from the cup. CFLS Used 4-23watt 6500k 1600 Lumens, 3-30watt 3500K, 1-14watt around 800 lumens
What are your thoughts of my first set up?

Well went to check it and sadly the plants dead . Lost all its color and just looked horrible. Probably something to do with soil and water. Will restart when I get different soil

Try ProMix or FFOF - Try and get a run off PH of 6-7- if having troubles with PH, try Dolomite Lime (Ground/ milled **Not Coarse**) it will balance PH and add Mg to the soil along with some Cal. Trying is everything, Mistakes come next - You will succeed as I have as well. My first plant was 2 months old and barely 7" tall and had 4 leaves. You learn from your faults and can make it up easily with practice and experience. Best of luck!
