I know some strains like to be topped and others don't.Is W.W. a strain that should be topped? BTW its a out doors grow and doing good so far.

you only top plants if you have to like reaching over a wall or getting to close to a light. is it getting to tall as in getting spotted by passers by if not just leave it till the fall and harvest.

It was my understanding that topping makes two Colas on the top and also makes the plant bushier and more bud sites?Correct my logic if I'm wrong..

we still on planet earth, am i correct?!

you top in flower only if the plant reached such heights that tying it down won't work anymore, this is a last measure taken since it destroys buds if done in flower!

there is nothing wrong with topping in veg by the way, this then will force the plant to grow 2 to several tops depending on how often you top the plant. and it can be done with every stain there is.

topping makes a difference, indoors as outdoors:roll: indoors it gives the edge to limit height while at the same time increase the number of budding sites and outdoors it also increases the the light usage since the plant ands up with ore fan leaves per bud;)

The missing link here is that you will get smaller buds if you top the plant, instead of a main large cola.....

I guess that was my main queastion. Would topping make for more yield or not? I have read that some strains really need to be topped for the best yield,I read that Blueberry was one strain that really should be topped. But haven't read anything about W.W. I have 10 so will top 5 and not the other 5 . And see which works best for the next grow season..

That should be the only reason to top your plants. More bud. If you don't have the space you should make the space.

I'm pretty sure it depends also on what strain you're using. If it's one that they call a 'donkey dick' then it naturally grows one large cola on top, so I wouldn't top. Skunk varieties tend to be like this. If however it's one that makes a 'christmas tree' shape, with many medium budding sites instead of one large cola, then it'll be worth topping to encourage it to bush out
