I noticed that my plants about 8 hours after the light goes on drop down their leaves. Like they are resting....and the next morning right after the lamp goes on again the are back on position... What could this mean?? Is there sth wrong with that?

they kinda are resting... its like a sunflower following the light; there is no light to reach up to, so there is no point in wasting energy reaching.

Thank you very much for the info. But the prob is that they do that while there is still light. About in the middle of the day period. Is this normal?

Yeah it isn't good. Back the light off and you will be amazed at how the plants respond. Wilting is a sign of stress and stress isn't good even with the extra light they get.

My light is a 400W MH and its about 50cm over the tops. what do9 u think?
Well that is already a good distance. You are measuring from the highest leaf to very bottom of the hood? I start my 400HPS at 65 cm at two weeks and then work my way down to 30 cms by four weeks. It sounds like it may be some other problem. Let your ph/nute situation stabilize and maybe that will fix it.
