Who owns a Toyota?

If you haven't been keeping up-to-date, Toyota has recently recalled the following 8 vehicles for "runaway gas pedals" (thats right, the gas pedal literally gets stuck!! There have been several deaths already)

These are the defected cars:
2009-2010 RAV4,
2009-2010 Corolla,
2009-2010 Matrix,
2005-2010 Avalon,
Certain 2007-2010 Camry,
2010 Highlander,
2007-2010 Tundra,
2008-2010 Sequoia

The eight models represented 57% of Toyota's 2009 U.S. sales. I myself own an 07 Camry, which Toyota claims only certain models (LE, SE, ?) have been affected. I tried calling their customer service (1-800-331-4331) line but gave up after 30 minutes of waiting during heavy call volumes. I called the dealer next and they told me they cannot do anything until Toyota sends out official recall letters to Toyota car owners. They told me all they could do was take the car and park it at the dealer until the manufacturer figured out exactly what was causing the gas pedal to get stuck over time.

So I guess I'm screwed huh? Gonna be driving real slow / cautious until they can deal with this

I love toyota. My camry is the best car I've ever owned.

Also this recall isn't that big of a deal. GM, Ford, Nissan, ect..have had comparably as large of a recall at one point or another. The media is kind of blowing it out of the water for some reason.

The problem with the pedals is supposed to happen gradually according to Toyota. This is why most have not seen anything.

Take it to the dealer. Don't waste your time calling them.

I think deaths have happened to 2 vehicles if my memory serves me correctly.
