I really do get tired of hearing the negatives of cannabis.... seems no matter where you turn, only negative news and articles come out about cannabis, while only those publications dedicated to cannabis show the positive sides. Everyone overlooks all the good it does and focuses on the negatives, why can't the research focus on the positive and stop touting the man made cannabinoids and realize the natural plant ones are far better to treat illnesses... sorry about the rant, but the article that got me going is here: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/barbara-hollingsworth/nih-nearly-6-million-americans-suffer-marijuana-use-disorder

They surveyed 36,309 over 12 months and some how come up with nearly 6 million people? Um apparently they need to retake basic math.
I'm sorry but if my calm easy going, humorous, laid back, happy go lucky, treat everyone with respect mentality is a "disorder" then I'm quite content to be suffering from my cannabis use disorder. Sorry for being such a mental patient folks, I promise I'll clean up.... NOT

But ya know what, I bet some of those 36,309 folks are probably drinking and doing other medications prescribed by their doctors.

100 reporters can write 100 articles a day, They can be unbiased but the ultimate control lies with a few individuals (editors) as to whether it's published or not, and their motivation is profits. Don't think if D.A.R.E. put's 2 million in their pockets for ads would they take a chance of losing that.

The part I hate is that when we go before the local government, idiots spend time quoting articles like this and then we have to spend half of our time explaining the facts and how the results found are flawed... ignorance breeds ignorance which seems to be running rampant within local and federal levels of government, hate saying it but it seems to be true.

I've found that people with mental issues had those issue before they starting using a substance; most of the time they started using a substance to try and alleviate said mental persecutions. So, I believe while some people who were going to develop mental issues in life will do it with our without using cannabis; but perhaps cannabis does play a factor in how the disease develops .. then again so does alcohol. And, so does religion..I mean if you can persuade somebody to strap on a bomb and detonate themselves says how powerfully mind altering it can be. Unfortunately our societies have done a great job at making us mentally impotent when thinking for ourselves so this sort of biased direction is on point; I'm not sure how to ever fix that as people are just too busy to motivate themselves to think past what they are taught. I'ts sad!

There is a negative effect in everything but what people need to realize is it ain't as long of a list as every single pharmaceutical drug. I would not doubt some of the same problems as tobacco except less likely to cause cancer but they again some of the weed is getting sprayed with pesticides so better to grow it yourself or buy from someone like me. :)

After legalization we will know the true negative effects I was coughing up resin like a bastard from blunts and joints now I mostly smoke hash because less smoke means less resin and I don't cough up globs of resin. Certainly are some negative effects. But prohibitionists are going to talk shit 60% or so don't want to hear it the biggest negative effect is tearing families apart.
