I have one t-5 2x4 ho light and two 120w cfl all are at 6700k... I've seen post up saying they are using the 2700k and a 6700k in veg stage.. What is the benefit od that here is a pic of mine.. There about 4 weeks old from seed strain is bluecheese and whitewidow. Temp is around 76°f and ph is 6.5. Using foxfarm nutes and the feeding sechule with half foxfarm soil and regular poting mix... Plus no growth in the vertical direction but a bunch of foliage growth please help or am i on the right track

You get a better overall wavelength, close to that of the sun. You know, that huge fireball in the sky that lights everything and grows 6ft tall cannabis plants.

What you've got is fine for veg, but you will need more for a decent flowering and harvest. And if you do add more for flowering then it would help to add more red light to the spectrum.

Blue light is good in veg, and keeps your plants short...red/Yellow light is good in flower, and promotes quicker flowering.

plants need boath spectrumes all grow ..

just more in the blue ranges in Veg and more in yellow/red in flowering ..

like in nature .. early in spring the sun stand high on the sky .. so our atmosphere let most blue light in ..
later in the summer/fall the sun will stand lower on the sky and it will let more red/yellow light in .. we just try to copy it ..

also two things .. keep them T5s 2-4 inch`s away from the plant tops ..
and get some more light once you begin to flower .. mostly in 2700K .. 5000K can work nicely .. still mix em up tho ..

You've already gotten some great answers. The closer you can mimic natural sunlight at different seasons of the year, the better.
