Ok, so, there seem to be a TON of people out there that wonder "Why should I know anything about history, we are in the year 2014 and we are awesome".
Well, that is a VERY ignorant position to take. Most of the people that took the time to write things down throughout history were pretty damn smart, and even if they didn't have the technology we have today, the human brain has not really had any evolution for at least 10,000 years if not longer. So the people that were writing books and figuring out the world 2,000 years ago were actually probably smarter than a LOT of people that are alive today. But they did not have smart phones, they did not have apps, they did not have the internet, they did not have access to global libraries and social media. YOU DO.
You do have access to all these things. So what you can do now, is figure out what geniuses were talking about thousands of years ago, and apply it to all the modern technology that is available now.
So basically, you don't have to be a genius to be a genius, you just have to apply the genius by proxy.
