Will my hempy ever grow?

plants.jpgHi Guys.

Have got 2 WW, one in soil and one hempy bucket. Also have a short rider in soil too. The hempy was started in soil before i even knew about hempy buckets and it was not going very fast at all so decided to transplant to 100% perlite in 2l soda bottle. It was a poorly slow growing seedling anywas so nothing lost etc. Plant is about 3 weeks old now (from popping out of soil) and was transplanted last tuesday. still very very slow growth so dug it out last night and reduced the bottle size as it's clearly not getting any food right now :-(. Now the roots are bout an inch to resevoir so hoping it takes off soon. Temps steady about 23*c 250w HPS about 10 inches above with fan blowing over. RH = 35 - 45. Do you think it is a genetic runt as it's twin has just taken off in the soil and has it's 3 sets of leaves at last.

Which of the two in soil is the other WW? If the big one is its twin, my guess would be that you might have damaged the roots somewhere along the way and it is just slow to repair them before adding much more visible growth. Also, can't tell but is the hempy bottle clear? If so you should cover it with duct tape, paint, paper, something to shade the roots. Being that it is in perlite only, does it need extra nutrients compared to the other two plants? I'm pretty unfamiliar with hempy systems but get the basic concept so not too sure what could be causing the slow growth. You may be right though that it is simply a runty plant. If you have the space to keep it I see no reason not to though, it may eventually take off and be almost or just as good of a smoke as your others. Since you have the short rider in there I'm guessing you're light schedule is either 20:4 or 18:6?

If you take it easy on her, she should recover. Make sure she gets regular doses of pH stabilized water, she won't be drinking much until the roots recover, but a bit of an overflow will keep her water from getting stagnant. I've had good success stabilizing abused plants by switching 'em (from both soil and hydro) to hempy.

it will recover but will take time obviously it will be much smaller than the others
