Pretty much any 1000W "horticulture" bulb is going to be pretty pricy, I'm not sure how it works with conversion bulbs but you can get standard 1000W HPS bulbs for commercial, warehouse & security lighting purposes for a lot cheaper but they don't have "enhanced spectrums" for growing, however Ive heard that standard HPS bulbs work dam near just as good as "enhanced spectrum" horticulture bulbs, not sure how factual that is but its what Ive heard. Thanks for all the info, but damn those conversion bulbs get expensive!
Funny, I was going to mention that bulb but I thought they weren't available yet, obviously I was wrong:Or go with the best bulb on the market(open fixture rated!!) that works with your ballast http://www.ecat.lighting.philips.com/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/outdoor-ceramic-white-light/energy-advantage-cdm-allstart/928601172801_na/ buy at your local electric supply store(for the pros)......this thing will rock both veg/flower!!! good luck
You can find the specs for all of the Philips CDM AllStart bulbs (except the 830W) here: (-->CLICK HERE<--), for some reason the 830W bulb isn't on that list, there's a 860W but no 830W & IDK why?? Here's the specs for the 830W: (-->CLICK HERE<--)Never ran these kind of lights, what is the life span on these bulbs?
I see it now, must have over looked it lol, 16,000 hours doesn't sound to bad. I think I might go with that bulb and hood, go all out.
Haha yeah I figured that!I bought two of these but they were 400 watts. I simply rewired remote and left the enclosure open. They run hot and they are too heavy to hang "as is" safely from any wooden joist you blindly screw into. Trust me.
I have three of those dome shade reflectors like that, do you like it?have mine in pic
