will this fan work?

First of all let me just say thank you for all your response. I have a 2 by 3 by 5 Diy cab With 3 plants 2 c99 and 1 White widow. The fan i have is too loud for my girl so i need an upgrade i was thinking of thes&a td 100x.
My questions are will this fan work to keep my cab cool (400w hps NO cool tube) with a filter
Also how quiet are they.

yes @TitoM

your area is 30 cf ........those fans are rated for 170 cfm.....your more then fine (if u want u can hook on a carbon filter to clean the ejection air of smell )

u should be more then happy with what it does for u ......just rem if u are going passive intake double the size so a 4 inch is 8x8 inch passive intake

this is a refillable one ...........so after a year u can go to ebay look up this same seller and buy brand new carbon saving u money (the 2nd year u grow u have saved self 60 bucks)

Thanks again I checked out the filter and I think that's the one I'm getting can't go wrong with money back guarantee if I don't like it.

plus look at the ratings 100% over that long of a time ........they are good ppl i have 2 of the filters now going on 3rd year work great

personally if i was you i would look for a centrifugal fan. that fans a mixed flow (how we call them down under) sure it will work, but when you hook up a filter. centrifugal fans really force more air than the mixed flow.
they are also cheaper on amazon than that one, just type in centrifugal fan

your old ladies gonna just have to deal with the noise bro.....if she wants to smoke the weed. down load a relaxation music app for her phone or something. id have intake down low, carbon filter to inline on top, and a couple ocelating, (<spelling?), 10-12 inch fans in there moving the plants if that was my box. good luck.

Remember to check your cfm's needed for space and grow space air should be exchanged at least every 5 minutes

You can always just get a fan speed controller. Get as big a fan you want, never know might want to expand in the future, and just slow/quiet it down to where you need it. They're like $20 on amazon

8x8 is quadruple the area of 4x4

How r this fan with noise?

Alianwidow my old lady dose NOT smoke at all so im lucky she doesn't mind me growing. I do have an fan in the corner the black one. I want to add one on top.thanks for the input.

I have a small cab so anything over 100cmf should be good.

There not too bad. You can get some under 50dba if you want to pay the money. All u do is hook it up to acoustic ducting

I found this fan to be loud, I returned it, also it wasnt speed controllable, so if you dont like the 2 built in speeds your stuck, because its a capacitor started motor
