Yes, a 150w hps is fine to grow from seed to harvest. You're plant(s) will be fine.

Take that foil down off the walls if that's what that is. Order some mylar online or paint your box white...but foil sucks.

It also might get hot in there with an hps. If so you'll need to improve your ventilation or get a stronger fan.

And don't put the light too close to the plant, especially when seedlings. But don't keep it too far away that they stretch towards the light. Keep them short and stout.

okay thanks. now can i use like lets say freezer paper on the walls i realy dont want to paint in there. and with the fan if i use the one i got but put it on high and maybe move the vet hole down and make a exit for the air to move out. would that work?

If you've got no other alternative, then I guess stick with the foil. One side should be more "dull" than the other, so use that side and you'll probably be alright.

Have you tested the setup yet? Run the light with your current setup and see what the temp is like. You want it between 78-82, but they CAN grow at higher/lower temps. See what you've got first and go from there.

A 150w won't get too hot, so you can probably keep it 12-24" no problem. Put your hand just above the plant between it and the light--if it feels like your hand would be uncomfortable there for a while, then its probably too close.

12" might be a little close for seedlings though...they are young and impressionable, so a more like 20" is probably appropriate for them right now. How much vertical space do you have?

I assume that's 26 INCHES (26") not 26 FEET (26')...well that's not a lot of space at all. Look into methods of keeping your plant short (LST, topping multiple times, supercropping) and see how other people have grown in tight place. Mini fridges, CPU cases, etc should give you some model to base your grow on.

Do your research. There's a lot of good resources on this site. Start with the FAQ section at the very top of the page and then work your way into the forums and find examples of people growing in small spaces.

Good luck :leaf:

what about puttin git in a room thats not used with a door on it. that will give it lots of room and air along with the fan on them. put a bag up on the window and keep the door shut at all times so when its time to do 12/12 it will have it light and dark. and if i do this can i keep the light on in the room with the light for the plant. then turn off the light to the plant as well as the room light>?

More vertical space would help you tremendously. It would allow for larger plants, bigger buds and higher yields. You need to make sure that the plant receives ABSOLUTE DARKNESS DURING THE DARK PERIOD. Light leaks can cause your plant to turn hermie or revert back to vegging during flower.

And you want to make sure your window doesn't look suspicious from the outside. I use speaker grill cloth and it just looks black. You'll need a few (probably 4) layers, but its perfect.

Again, there's tons of good info in the FAQ's on setting up a grow room. Start there and you'll be on the right path. It's VERY important to know what you're getting into before you start, and the FAQ's is the way to do it.
