Winterizing BHO and VapePen efficiency?

I only use vapor pens at the moment and have owned a few over the last year. One of my biggest complaints is the buildup that happens on the atomizers and in the ceramic reservoirs. Sometimes it builds up so much that it affects the pens ability to heat to the proper vaping temp and leaving you half hits and more buildup. I'm not sure what the buildup is that doesn't vape and am wondering if anyone can enlighten me.

I have not "winterized" any of my product yet and am going to give it a try my next go around. Will removing the waxes and "what-nots" that occurs during the process of winterizing with ISO help the performance of my vapor pen? Leave less residue and residuals?

I agree, winterizing leaves less residue. I have been using a Seego V-Hit B, and find I can clean the vaping coil head by soaking it in Everclear for a couple of hours. I would recommend using the Everclear for winterizing too, I use about 4:1 alcohol to oil. The oil/wax is a lot more soluble in the ethanol than in iso.

Removing the plant waxes by winterizing, will also reduce the residuals left in an e-pen.

By the very nature of how they work, e-pens also first boil off the lower boiling point components disproportionately, leaving the heavier elements to build up. Every pen that I've tested, you have to periodically clean in alcohol or replace the skillets.

Don't take that as the final word, because I haven't tested more than two dozen different pens donated to us for that purpose, and the magic pen may well be out there. My idea of the perfect pen, is one that doesn't get stick and messy to tend.

I will take your guys recommendation to use the Everclear when winterizing. So when i winterize will i wind up with shaddar at the end? I do not use a vac purge just a water and whipping. I've gotten shaddar like texture but every time by a day or two later it becomes soft then crumbles to budder/wax. I do not mind it this way except scooping gets old, id rather just pull a piece of sap.

I've owned, the Cloud pen, Pulsar Vortex, Atmos Junior, and the Atmos nail attachment for my Atmos, and i like the "nail attachment" best so far (but it takes some jimmying to get it functional for wax) the nail has just a small place for dabs but seams to burn/vape it up very fast, but it, like the others, gets shitty over time, im DEF on the hunt for a new pen. The concept for the Atmos i like, but it just doesn't function that well, it has a circular coil that sits in the bottom of the large chamber, but it just doesn't seam to get hot enough to vape nice size dabs. U get the "boiling" and a small dab, then u gotta stir it up and get it all back on the coil for another half hit go. OK so....blah blah blah

Is there a pen you would recommend? I like doing a big dab instead of a few smaller ones, and as i said before, i just cant have a rig around with a torch and all that cuz of my wee-ones. Im willing to spend good money on one but they all seam to be flawed in some way. Have you sampled the "Cera" by Thermovape? looks fancy, and it costs, but i am a firm believer in getting what you pay for.

Solly, I don't have a favorite pen, and in truth only use an E-pen when I have no other viable options. My favorite style E-Pen is a simple skillet for wax or shatter, that allows only two or three hits, because they taste better longer.

Every tank type we tested, leaked if placed in odd positions, and every high capacity oil cartridge became increasingly phenolic tasting with use.

The small skillets actually work pretty slick, and serve their purpose admirably well, but still don't have the effects, or flavor of the KO Domeless Titanium nail that I compare them to, so that I use it when it is available.

The small E-pen skillet's Achilles heel is that it gets sticky and messy fast, so you also need alcohol wipes or spare pens (both?). I took half a dozen different pens on a two day, three party jaunt to the recent Sea Town cup and they were all sticky messes, long before we got home. That's not counting how many other pens there were in the group.

I haven't tested the ThermoVape Cerra, and am always up for new experiences and having my mind changed, but as a very practical matter, I can't imagine paying that much money for a vaporizer pen, especially one of those dimensions. It isn't very subtle in public either.
