I have started my first outdoor attempt.
After so much back packing to find the perfect spots, digging, and soil hauling, I need to post a few pics. I should be able to update this regularly, as I do get out to the sites quite often.
Here is what I have;
3x3 holes with Fox Farm Ocean soil
10 Wonder Woman
10 Northern Lights
5 Aurora Indica
5 Master Kush
10 Others from Nirvana, but forgot the strain.
All are Fem.
All were started indoors at different times, and have all been topped with Uncle Ben's technique. As of today they are all around 20" tall, and I plan to keep them pretty short for security reasons. We have been having alot of rain and because of that they have not grown a lot in the past few days. When they do start to tzke off again I will be topping them regularly.
I have all plants covered with chicken wire and a very light covering over the natural soil over the potting soil, to help it to blend in a little. When they are big enough I will remove some of the chicken wire so they can grow right out the top, but still keep some wire to deter the rabbits.
I had many problems with groundhogs rooting in the fresh soil, so I let it sit for a week and allowed them to do their thing. When I returned to plant I also brought lots of eggs which I broke around the holes, because I read it helps to keep the bastards away.
Now things seems to be going well. They have been in the holes for 2 weeks and have more than doubled in size. I did have a few with lower leaves turning yellow, but it has seemed to resolve itself. I have not included all plants, just a few random samples. Unfortunately during the seedling phase, I mixed them up and have no real way of determining what strain each is anymore. That will not happen next year!
