Hey guys, thanks for taking a peek into my thread. I'm looking to buy these meters online but I'm not sure if they would fit the purpose for my soil-less grow

The TDS meter

As well as the PH Meter.

I'm assuming these would work no problem, but again I am just a newbie trying to set up his first growbongsmilie Thanks again for looking guys!

That ph meter is junk, I went through two of them because the little bulbs on the bottom cracked while cleaning them with a paper towel after each use. Also I have that ppm meter and not sure if it gives accurate readings, if I was starting from the beginning I would buy a meter that detects everything. Buy a nice meter that you will never have to replace. My current ph meter is this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oakton-EcoT...676579?pt=US_Garden_Tools&hash=item4d13bda1a3 I paid 50$ on amazon but they have better meters that detect more than just ph.

You def need a ph meter tho. I am doing a hydro grow and still a first time newbie also. So you learn as you go but one thing I can teach is to not buy the cheapest tools and equipment out but try and buy one thing that will last forever. I made the mistake of buying cheap tools and having to replace them is not worth it.

I don't. I've had mine for nearly a year. It has been submerged, and even fell from my balcony, and it works just fine.

Broke with a paper towel? Don't clean it. I don't. I calibrate once a month or every six weeks, and it has never been off by more than 0.1. Ever.

I have over 30 plants growing mostly in soil, so it gets a lot of use, every 2-3 days.

Also, I have that exact TDS meter, and same thing, no issues with it. I use it for both my hydro plant solution, as well as my colloidal silver mixtures.
