and a pre-mix w/ NPK of 12/6/6

no time release fertilizers, and 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon of mix, some peat moss. Just make sure none of the products have fertilizer in it.

My mix is 1part peat moss, 1 part perlite(both non-miracle grow), and 1 part mushroom compost you can use worm castings or any kind of compost... I add 1 tablespoon of lime per gallon of mix. Use water soluble fertilizers and be careful not to overdo it when they're young.
