Would this light work??

Hey everyone. I'v got 3 plants going on atm, all different ages :wall: , but anyway, one has just been put into flower, one is still growing its third set of leaves and one is growing its 5th set. I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PREMIUM-Q...1394901?pt=UK_Light_Bulbs&hash=item1e72952155 . Its a self ballasted MH light. I would normally buy this, but its 5000k colour temp. Will that affect my growth? I'm looking to use it during flowering as well as veg, during flowering I would add 4 23w 2700k cfl's, so would I get a decent yield with this? The guy also has a 400w version. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks, just want to know, if I run that light (250w) with 4 23w cfl's, will I get a decent yield? (2 ounces or so). Would it dramatically increase the yield if I got the 400w one instead, its a difference of £2 between the two.

people like to say that more light always equals more bud, which a lot of times is true, but only if you have the space for a bigger lamp, and along with the space, the capacity to cool a larger light..
more light brings with it more heat, and if you can't get rid of the extra heat, the added benefit of more light will be negated..
what size area are you working with m8?

plants are going to flower one by one, so not too cramped. Um would prefer height wise to get no higher than a metre, and stay under that as best I can. I was thinking of maybe dangling the 23w cfl's around the plant, in a square type of formation to provide side lighting, and having this bulb on the top.

Oh and may aswell ask, how can I make a reflector, I would rather not buy one, would something like card covered with white paint work?

i'm sure there's some diy's out there on how to build a reflector, but hid's get pretty hot, and i'd not risk it using any sort of paper product to surround a hot ass hid bulb with for sure..

look into lst, low stress training in order to keep the plants short.

I FIM my plants so I'm not too worried about the height. I can always tie them down if need be. So this light will work for flowering right?
