A buddy of mine called me up, said he has something swimming in his res.
1st thing I did was tell him he's crazy, but he insisted. Since he doesnt live far, I went and looked. This is what I found. Wtf is it? and how do you get rid of them?
Nope not leaches. lol
They're lil larvae of some kind. I checked the roots and they're nice and white. But there's a few of the larvae or whatever in the roots.
He's ru.ning a flood n drain system
That's what I thought, just trying to find out what and how to take care of it.
So far his plants look healthy, roots are white. The plants are 6wks in flower on an 8 wk strain.
In case it is a leach, this sounds weird, but I'm not fucking with you, leaches are sterile, they are used in surgury. Hold it in your hand a while, if it tries to bite you, it's a leach.
I looked at it under a 60x scope . The best way I can describe it is it looks like a black maggot.
They're about a qtr in long, cylindrical bodies, tapered on both ends. The body has lil red lines and what looks like hairs.
They're in his roots, and don't seem to like it when they're in water.
That's what I was gonna say, are you sure it's not a tiny slug? If he's at week six on an 8 week strain and it's doing fine, then I probably wouldn't worry too much. Whatever it is doesn't seem to be fucking them up so I'd try and get as many out as I could and ride it out.
