WTF is up with my tolerance? Anyone else experience this? Or maybe you're an expert caregiver that can advise?

How many of you regular smokers have ever fucked with edibles without also having smoked?? Try that.

I used to be in the "edibles ain't shit" club, until i fucked around and tried some without having smoked prior. I can definitely tell you, they hit MUCH MUCH harder that way. And better, too.

I kind of messed up my tolerance with edibles, made a lot and ate it too frequently and they just sort of quit working that well. Edibles have never worked for my wife, real strong ones both store bought and homemade result in just a medium high when it should be enough to knock out a horse.

My tolerance is pretty high, to help I rotate strains and apparatuses regularly. The first smoke of the day is the only really enjoyable one, meh. Not always possible, but changing where you smoke can also help. You get used to smoking in a certain setting and it diminishes how you feel the high.

One issue is the stores. They sell 10mg gummies and bars of chocolate with lots of squares...they pretend 10mg is a dose, because charging $25+ for 100mg of gummies or chocolate is their game. While you can get a buzz at lower amounts, i.e. 50mg+, it is really imo at 100mg and up that you get the full effect.

The stores are absolutely fleecing their customers...pretending it is medical, pretending 10mg is a dose, and charging a fortune for something made easily from the scrap heap. That is my #1 knock against "medical" stores.

Can't argue any of that.

Regular smokers will never feel 10mg edibles, that's not even microdosing, that's like a nanodose, lol. Try 30 to 40mg to start.

Hey, I recently wanted to give my body a break from vaporizing. I got quite the habit being a grower, hitting the thing every half hour all day and night. I would have to add oil to the bowls at night because by that time the buds were seeming weak. The lavender I grow is regularly close to 30% THC and 1% CBD. So, it's not like I'm using weak dispensary weed.

Anyway, I had read that the tolerance from smoking or vaping is different from the tolerance from edibles. So, I thought it would be nice to save some stuff and give my lungs a break by trying this rick simpson oil thing. I've already been making the oil for vaping for years.

But, holy shit do I have some kind of crazy tolerance or what? I have to eat about 300mg to even feel it. And, after eating huge doses and nearly shitting my pants a couple of times I learned that the body can't process that much at once. So, now I have to eat 150mg followed by 150mg in about an hour. When I do that I'm only high enough to not want to vape for about 2 hours! That's freakin' it! Then I have to do it all again. Ugh and wait for it to kick in.

I'm taking about a gram and a half a day now.

And, OMG the dispensaries sell stuff in like 10-25mg doses? What is going on? Am I some kind of freak? Well, obviously, but I mean with this crazy tolerance.

It's working, btw. My lungs are happier. Just don't know how long I can keep this up before going through my crops faster than I can grow them.
I wonder if your filtering enough. The crushed up plant material getting past the filtering process can act the way pollen spike balls behave in your sinus to your intestines. I can eat 1000-1400mg in one shot With no stomach issues. I just squeeze out a gram on to piece of parchment paper, place in freezer for a min and down the hatch.

I take allergy meds for being allergic to weed ;)
Seriously
But the ones that make everyone else drowsy leave me awake to the wee hours of the night
But I sleep like a baby on the non drowsy variety
Point is there isn’t really a magic number which is I rotate strains constantly bongsmilie:peace:
Holy shit, I'm not the only one. My skin is allergic so I have to wear long sleeves when I tend or I break out in hives. And when I am trimming I have to take allergy meds or forget about it, my nose will be Niagra falls. Smoking it I am fine usually, although some concentrates can kick my asthma off.

If you have a really high tolerance stop using for awhile. I stop smoking a few times a year for a couple weeks at a time. I also don't smoke non-stop all day long like some do. A few bowls or a fat joint that I relight throughout the day is all I smoke these days. I get a buzz pretty easy.

Years ago when I was smoking an 8th or more a day I realized that I just didn't enjoy smoking all day long and the high was weak. I stopped smoking for a long time and when I started again I could get high off a hit or two and the high was much better.

I would be concerned about continually increasing the amount of cannabis to such high levels. Too much of anything is bad for you.

I used to have a very high tolerance when i would smoke everyday and wouldnt get high for shit. these days i barely smoke anything because its all i need, 7 grams can now last me 3 weeks whereas before itd last me 5 days. i smoke the smallest amount and still get blasted.

Yup this is exactly how i am now and it is much better because you never get a tolerance yet still get baked af off maybe half a joint.

I can quit smoking for a whole year, doesn't matter. Two sessions and my tolerance rockets back up where I can't feel it no matter how good it is. Wasn't always like that, took a couple decades of daily toking. In my opinion, it's best to keep chasing that dragon. I often come to find i'm working with shit gear. It happens.

I get violently ill if quit using after building a tolerance. Nausea and vomiting for around two week without any. I will lose 10lbs+ going cold turkey after using heavy for a while. Been that way since I was a teen.

My tolerance seems to peak, and I end wasting weed trying get higher I can certainly still get stoned off my balls it just I want to be higher. Edibles have never impressed and the uplifting weeds have never really done anything for me. I can barely tell I smoked while my buds seem to be having a great time.

I find that rotating the strains out every day really does help with tolerance issues and staying away from bottlenecked genes like cookies and most hyped strains these days will also help. I'd throw some heirloom and landrace hybrids into the rotation if possible as some will have no ceiling and will cut through the fog.
