compost tea folar spray

I was talking to a Master Gardener at a local University and he said I should not spray a compost tea on the buds because there is a chance it has samonola or ecoli. I am thinking it should not matter because I am either vaporizing, burning, or cooking my bud which should kill the pathogens...
