apollo 10 or new area 51 190?

Been researching for a couple weeks now. And just not sure if I should spend a little over $500 for the new all white area 51 or about $360ish on an apollo 10. Not new to growing just this site. Seemed more led info here than anywhere else. I've always done hps and with good results. Pull .5-about .7 g/w consistently. Been a while and some old grower buddies have started using some with what they say are good results. One using solar storm and lumi grow. The other just traded out his 3 digi 600s for 4- 432w 7 band htg panels. So I'm wanting to set up something small I'm a 2x4 closet in a spare bedroom. I want 1/4 to 1/2lb harvests since I'm used to 1/2lb off a 400hps. I think that could be possible with an apollo 10, but I know it's not a quality piece. So would 1 If the new 190 all white area 51s be sufficient for a 2x4 space and is 1/2lb unrealistic or do able? It should I get the Apollo and do as many rounds as I can while stacking up for a couple area 51s? Probably do either low number of plants lst and super cropped or just do SOG. got some good clones to use.

A51. apollo will fail within a year. you will spend money on shipping to get it fixed and wait 2 months. A51 has some of the the best led's you can get. cree x-te plus a lifetime limited warranty and upgradable for 50% off the cost of a new one. its a no brainer. you pay for what you get

Kinda what I'm thinking just read the ar is good but really not seem any pics though I want a member here or other forums. Was following some of the stuff you said looked at the aquarium ones but decided against it because they didn't seem to be driven any different. Still said same wattage and 700mA current yet 3 less per cluster. So was thinking shit will if the grow will only last a year that one wouldn't go that far.

You have any good ar links I should check out? And have people really tasted the longevity of the ar stuff as well. This is wise than buying a new tv. Took me 2 months of researching and looking, about 3 weeks of critical overview to settle in an LG 60lm7200. Like the best bang for the buck. Ar seems to be that for quality but still unsure. Proof is in the pudding and I could use a spoon. Lol

theres Area 51 leds threads all over this section. a few apollo ones. too. apollos will give good results with more watts and less coverage than A51. how long will they last..... From what 'I've seen most just last 3 - 6 months. I had one last 15 months but I didn't use it the whole time. Then it was stolen before I could fix it.

Well If you have any specific links throw them out. Kind of pain staking from the phone. Need to replace my Damn lap top charger it broke last night... lol with the 400 I typically used a 6" unline with either air cooled good or cool tube. Think a 4" with carbon scrubber would be fine for removing heat? Sounds like even that may be over kill. Though I'm in Texas.... maybe 4" with potentiometer speed control.

I was looking for his journal and couldn't find it.

Bad Karma has good grows with it too. I can't find any threads he has done. He has few pics in the sticky's though

I'm having good success with an Apollo8 and a couple of 3' T5's, so far, in a 4x4 tent. The Apollo is a strong light. I've had no issues with it, so far.

From what I've seen, A51 makes quality product, and lots of ppl like them here. I was considering buying one in the new year to see how they stack up against the Apollo8.

I was hemming and hawing between the Apollo and A51...and only went with the Apollo as there was local distributor, with very good warranty, thus saving me on shipping and duty fees coming into Canada.

Well went with the area 51. Going to do air pots with coco perlite mix and advanced sensi coco pH perfect. Not sure what to do for ventilation. I know a 6" inline is probably over kill for the space and light. That's what I would use on an air cooled 400hps. But would a 4" 170cfm inline be ok? 64cf. I would think that should manage the heat of the led. But just want to confirm.

You made a good choice going with Area 51, they don't disappoint.
As for your ventilation issue, it really depends on how big your grow space is.
I would say, anything 3'x3' or smaller, a 4" inline fan should be fine, 4'x4' or more would need the 6" inline fan.
Good luck with your grow, sir.

You can get a 6 inch 240 cfm booster fan from amazon (ledwholesalers) for around $25. They work very well. I use one for bringing in air for a 12x12 room. The grow area is smaller. I plan on upgrading to a vortex s line 6 inch soon.

Yea all the fees are keeping me from ordering a A51 and the mark up on apollos in canada combined with what ive gathered from probably way too much reading probably stuck going DIY(which will require a lot more reading) or paying up the ass in shipping fees and what not to canada from US or Netherlands
