the 190 is comparable with a 250 w hps I guessWhat do you consider the 190 equivlant to in HPS, like a 600w?

nah id say the sgs 160 out performs a 400w hps. so I'd imagine the xgs 190 would do better. probably 2 panels would out perform r at least match a 600w hps.the 190 is comparable with a 250 w hps I guess
Just found on their web site that area51 claims the xgs-190 has the intensity of a 400w but has more blues and deep reds than you would find on an HID, so I would expect a production level of 500w to 600w. Which is good news for me as Im trying to replace a 1000w hid with 2 of these for a 4x4ish grow area. I might even consider squeezing in 3 of these if I can find the extra cash from somewhere. I would really like to see a side by side with a 600w HID first though.nah id say the sgs 160 out performs a 400w hps. so I'd imagine the xgs 190 would do better. probably 2 panels would out perform r at least match a 600w hps.
Huh? How did you come to that conclusion?nah id say the sgs 160 out performs a 400w hps. so I'd imagine the xgs 190 would do better. probably 2 panels would out perform r at least match a 600w hps.
How did you come to your conclusion? The web site says it pulls 190w, so if it only preforms like a 250w HID I would be extremely disappointed. I also found on the web site that they claim it puts off intensentiy like a 400w but with more blues and reds.Huh? How did you come to that conclusion?
I would say it matches or out performs a smaller hps like 150-250 hps but until you can show proof or even a 1 pound grow with 1 panel I would not say it performs better than a 400 watt hps at all.
Yup^^^^...........this is due to the narrow lens angle, doesn't have the COVERAGE to compete with a 400w hps. People around here tend to forget what 400w of hid in skilled hands cab do........NO one is getting 350-400gms dry with 150w-160w off of current led tech.Huh? How did you come to that conclusion?

So your saying the intensity directly under the light is comparable to what you would find under a 400w, but beyond that the drop off is steep? Would it be as simple as finding a similar LED with a wider lens, or would that reduce the intensity under the light and be a zero net gain?Yup^^^^...........this is due to the narrow lens angle, doesn't have the COVERAGE to compete with a 400w hps. I didn't even notice those graphs at the top...I added up the 8 points/coverage distance they posted and averaged them out myself to get my numbers. So I wonder why/how they beefed the top graphs upActually the cmh averaged above 2OOumol in a 3x3 & 4x4 AREA according to the link with 348w^^^it has the highest PPF per watt on the market or any indoor light source according to philips
Silly Psuagro Lumens Are For Humans. Its All About The Amount Of Photons A Plant Can Handel In A Given Light Cycle. We Led Growers Need To Quit Thinking With The Hid Side Of Our Brain.Trust Me This Is Eaiser Said Than Done But I Call Bullshit That You Cant Teach An Old Dawg New Tricks.Hell Its Been Said You Can Lead A Horse To Water But You Cant Make Him Drink However If You Kick Him In the Nutsack Hard Enough He Will Take A Big Gulp!!!!!!I said skilled growers can hit 350+ grams dry with 400w of hid.....I never hit 1gpw+ with any hid, but got close.

A very good dutch grower got 371grms with 260w of Hans panel(hans fails to include the drivers) over a 4x4? with COMPLETE coverage from 4 panels http://www.ledgrow.eu/Reviews.html, now will a SINGLE 190w all white panel do better?? IDK, but I doubt it with a RECTANGULAR design and still too low lm/per/watt, yes this is important when dealing with a "white" source IMO, don't forget that "green gap"!!!. You think a 1 foot wide led panel with 95 degree lenses is gonna cover a 3x3 effectively in flower????? hmmm
Your right that we haven't seen a full run with one yet.......what's on paper doesn't always translate to real life sometimes. Now with that said I really like area 51's stuff and EH's commitment to being very transparent about his products; they are top-notch in this crowded field. When his cree MK-R panel finally comes out, I want first dibs!!

We LED nerds here in the forums, do not recommend Ebay LED lights to anyone, ever.Hey ya'll. i'm first time grower. and would like to start with LED grow lights. i'm about to start with about 2-3 plants. does 360w (120xW3) LED light will work ?

What's better, two Hans (the newer design) or one Area51 160? It will be a 24x36 grow area (48" height). We LED nerds here in the forums, do not recommend Ebay LED lights to anyone, ever.
They have short lifespans, weak yields, and are made from unknown/low quality parts.
Here are my suggestions, a Hans Panel for $300, a California Light Works SolarFlare for $400, or save up for an Area 51 light.
The Hans Panel and the SolarFlare will each flower a 2'x2' area.
Good luck.
Damn.....sounds^^ like someone is still butt-hurt over that Chief's loss under the helms of coach fat ass Andy in philly we know the feeling!! and btw our season was always going to be one and out............always next year brotherthat's our motto..Silly Psuagro Lumens Are For Humans. Its All About The Amount Of Photons A Plant Can Handel In A Given Light Cycle. We Led Growers Need To Quit Thinking With The Hid Side Of Our Brain.Trust Me This Is Eaiser Said Than Done But I Call Bullshit That You Cant Teach An Old Dawg New Tricks.Hell Its Been Said You Can Lead A Horse To Water But You Cant Make Him Drink However If You Kick Him In the Nutsack Hard Enough He Will Take A Big Gulp!!!!!!
Now The Question At Hand Will An XGS Grow A Lb Of Dried Smoke? My Answer Is I Will Get Back To Ya After My Next Grow. However After 2 Grows With The Area-51 SGS 160 (155 Watts) I Belive 10 Oz Grow To Be A Great Grow (1.80 GPW) And A Skilled Grower With Above Average Genetics Should Be Able To Pull A Constiant 8 ozs Per Plant (1.44 GPW) Whats That Pics Or It Didnt Happen Huh. Check Out Post 335 https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/644641-all-cree-led-plus-waterfarm-34.html Can A 400 Watt HID Pull These Kind Of GPW Numbers Per Plant? Not Even Close Hell A 1000 Watter Cant Even Compete. Now The Question That Needs To Be asked Is?The Amount Of Yeild Worth The Amount Of Wasted Electricty???
It's junk ...........skip itAnyone please? .
My mama always said two is better than one.............2 ===80w hans panels should rock it, but is the cooling sufficient???? I want that answered first.........the area 51 panel is great as well. your $$$ and your callWhat's better, two Hans (the newer design) or one Area51 160? It will be a 24x36 grow area (48" height).
