Truffles, much as I enjoy the concept, have a series of problems. They are not ultimately as potent, they tend do lose potency with age (why I don't know), and of course they take a loooong time to produce, and the production pales in comparison to other methods. But for the home grower, and especially for the cluster headache sufferer, there can be no better endeavor.

With shrooms, the most important things are the first steps and sterility. If you do the first steps right, and get healthy mycelium (fungus), then the part where shrooms actually form will go smoothly. If you aren't clean, you'll get contamination and the fungus won't be healthy enough to fight the contams off.

Yes, i agreed...but i think it is nice to order from online smart shops as they provide fresh and vacuum sealed truffles. Last month i ordered tampanensis-15-grams from http://www.magic-truffles-shop.com/magic-truffles/tampanensis-15-grams.html and they were well sealed and fresh.

1) Don't fuck around with the sterility shit if your goal is to grow mushrooms. Buy some pre-sterilized grain bags on ebay. Don't worry about the cost because you won't need many.

2) Liquid Culture. Liquid Culture and Liquid culture. Buy it on ebay. Don't waste syringes squirting up bags.

3) Temperature, temperature, temperature. If you can't control it exactly you will fail.

4) Compost, Compost and more compost. Colonized grain is for innoculating pasteruized compost. Only ninnies and people who want 10 grams fruit grain.

5) Pasteurize, don't sterilize compost. Sterilized compost is bad bad bad and will get contamination contamination contamination.

6) Be sterile when working with sterile stuff, once you have colonized compost fuck the sterile proceedures and have fun.
