Ok it is time for some curing. I have found some Jars at walmart. There is a plastic one with an air tight lid and also a 2 gal mason jar with air tight lid aswell.. now my question is does it have to be glass in order to cure it properly o plastic jars will also do the job work?

This jar is something I was looking into at walmart, I checked their website but I couldnt find it but I see it at amazon. Let me know what u all think,

I am trying to cure 4 Lbs.

Thanks!

i'd go with glass.. plastic can impart an odd flavor at times, and i think plastic is more air permeable then glass, which is bad for long term storage..
plus glass just looks so professional imo..

I would go w glass many plastics leave residue on your flowers you do not want to smoke. Imagine spending months growing organically to wrap your meds in plastic then smoking it. Mason jars aint to pricey

masom jars or a sealed tight tuperwaer, but would suggest a "cailber III Hydrometer for en-sure a proper RH which is 50-60 (get a perfect cure everytime, thry fit in mason jar and cost about $25.00, can get on2-bay or farmcogtow.com. Here is waht you also need for a good cure dry room (68-74) complete darkness ans air movenent

Always glass as repeated above. Mason jars are cheap and do the trick perfectly. Order them online if you have to, they are cheap

Thanks, 72 is the temp. Humidity is reading 59%. These jars are up to a year in storage and the bud is excellent. I really see a dramatic improvement at about 4-6 months of storage.

I agree, Bovidas are great.

Do you just have the hygrometer in one or two jars and assume the RH for the rest is roughly similar? That looks amazing!

Glass Glass Glass....no plastic....and don't support fucking Walmart either.....you can buy the same Mason jars at your local grocery store for maybe 15 or 20 cents a jar more. If you can afford to smoke quality, then you can afford to buy a quality medium to store it from a business that's not fucking over its employees or the local community.

No offense intended prosperian, but to answer drude1's question. I have a similar setup as pictured, buds & boveda in each jar (about 18 or 19). Hygrometer in 2, rotate among the jars as needed. The bovedas will do the trick.

ETA: I hope you've put those jars back in a DARK closet or other storage after you took the picture. :D nice looking picture BTW

That's good to hear...because I bought two of those exact hygrometers, but I'm a week or two away from my first harvest and pretty sure I'll have more jars than hygrometers! Thanks for the answer.

As an aside, has the "like" button disappeared from the bottom of the posts or am I crazy?

Thanks Johnny V for getting the answer out to Drude and the compliment. I rotate 5 hydrometers in 20 jars + 62% Bovidas. I have bud stored this way from a March and September harvest of last year. I see very little fluctuation from jar to jar.

I store them in a dark, cool, and stealthy place. About all I can say about that. BTW, replaced the Bovedas at five months with these jars sizes.

Got the jars, got the 62% bovedas, got 2 hygrometers. Now I just need the harvest. Thanks for the answer!

fuck the hygrometer, I take a bud out start breaking it up to smoke to see if its ready to be sealed, I know where I like my buds to be at to smoke, and you shouldn't have any problem telling if a bud is to wet to seal, its quite noticeable. Idk Im not for the stupid proof cure,
