Yeah, winter is cake. Summer temps are killer on these small grow cabs.

I tried a small custom cfl fixture last year with six cfls and was surprised at how much heat it was giving off.

You remember this, still have it for clones, vegging, or backup.

Hey guys and gals.

Here are some pics as promised.

Firstly its clean and running a 400w POWERPLANT SUPERVEG MH lamp.
image.jpg

Second. Here are the RAM BUG BARRIERS I've now got over my intakes. They Velcro on as you can see. All I've done is use a duct connector attached to my ducting and then the barrier attached to the connector.
image.jpg
image.jpg

My 80w tubular heater which is on a timer for dark hours only.
image.jpg

Just above the heater is the oscillating fan.
image.jpg

My new rhino pro 150x600mm filter rated at 900m3/h running on an RVK150 fan running 480m3/h at max speed. This runs on an SMS SMART CONTROLLER that is set to 25C with an idle speed of around 25%.
image.jpg

My walkway shelving.
image.jpg

My walkway. Still a little bit left to remove tomorrow.
image.jpg

Planted my seeds. 1x DINAFEM critical+, 1x HSO blue dream, 1x delicious seeds cotton candy, 1x delicious seeds caramelo. They are in an 8oz party cups with holes in the bottoms in a mix of coco and perlite. CANNA COCO nutes with 4ml per litre Rhizotonic to EC 0.6 pH 6.0. Small clear dessert pots on top acting as humidity domes as my room is guaranteed to get down to around 19% RH

So you've started 4 seeds (One seed of each strain?).

Did you crack them on paper towels or something....?

Come on, J
Spread the knowledge.
How have (or are) you starting the four off????

EDIT
Or by "Planted my seeds..."
Is that exactly what you've done?

Don't you bother germinating above ground?

I ready my coco and then just plant my seed.

It really is that simple.

People tend to make things far too complicated than they really are.

totally agree, just pop em in the soil/coco, works 99% of the time for me, I bet the last 1% is a bad seed`s, so germination rate is more like 100% no need to fool around with paper towels, use a pen/pensel and make a 1/2 inch hole, pop the seed in and cover it with a bit of loose soil/coco

A good idea is to water the pot/cup first and use a spray bottle to mist/keep the top moist, as watering could lead to you flushing your seed too fare down the pot/cup

Watermelon, squash, tomato, and other seeds come in a pack of 100 at $1.25 a pack. Feminized seeds at $10-20 each are the pressure point and cause all the extra focus on this part of the grow.

I had four seeds that didn't make it on my first go. The cup of water and paper towel method just give the new grower visual confirmation that the tap root is growing and you have a viable seed.

Total agreement that once you have some experience with mj seeds, no reason you can't drop the beans in dirt like any other seed. Experience goes a long way in gardening.

Like that:

Sticky icky Blueberry Bak. Nice work man!

You like the bug barrier?

They are I think made by hydrogarden.

Here's a link to the uk amazon.

Not sure if you can get the same thing on the USA version amazon.

Yeah, when I had the HID cool tube setup I used something home made for the intake. Needed something to keep all the crap from getting on the inside of the hot glass. They are a good idea.

Hi everyone,

Just cut down one of my Atomic Shivas. This Atomic shiva was grown from seed. I have 2 more which should be ready in a week. I must say I'm happy with the outcome. The main cola was a nice size, it weighed 93 grams wet - not sure what the dry weight will be. Feel free to make a guess. The whole plant was encrusted with Shiva resin. Take a look and let me know what you think.
