From the research and testing 1-1000w light will efficiently cover a 4x4 space, anything bigger you could get away with 1 if you have a light mover anything bigger then a 4x4 area you are not getting the full benefits of that light, I would have to agree with doing 2-600w lights for that size area you are trying to cover. Remember you want to evenly cover an area with the light.Hey guys.
Just wondering will a 1000watt hps cover an area 6x3foot?
Was thinking of running a cooltube with battwing reflectors.
That should give me 55watts per foot.

it will be plenty, you just need to get the right hood, a cool tube is not that great imo even with the batwing its not consentrated , you want something with a good foot print that will concentrate the light. I run a raptor and that has a great footprint and I also have a cool tube for my veg room, and I can see a big difference between the two.
.
Im confused about saying I need a square room I was under the impression batt wings put out rectangular light not square?
I was only thinking cool tube as heat will be an issue where I live (north Australia)

This is a math problem 9' x 9' = 81 sq ft 4.5' x 4.5' x2 = 40.5 sq ft You are not getting optimum coverage with 2 1000w lights as the average watt/sq st is 24.7.Im running 2 in a 9x9 so 4.5x4.5 each. For your 6x3 you should be all set with one for sure.
I would rock two 400w or a 600 on a mover.Hey guys.
