Has anyone used these lights before? I'm thinking about buying a few and trying them out. They are on Amazon for $14.

You'll do much better with both 6500 and 2700K 42 watter's from Home Depot at 8 bucks each.

I love Amazon, but not for CFL's.

That 5500K is interesting though, as a chart I saw had photosynthesis kicking at that spectrum, but a steep drop at 5000K.

the 5500 will work just fine they are not picky in veg they will grow from the light from your smart phone . most people veg with 2700k to 6500k. and plants are happy your in the middle. I personally prefer 10000k bulbs buy those 5500 your plants will love it

Right on. I'm just leaving them under the CFL's until I move them outside in the Spring.

Here is one of my plants. They've really shot up since I've put them under the light. Spring will be here soon and they'll be nice and ready to go outside by then. This one here had only one set of three pronged leaves and then went straight to the five pronged ones.
