More Global Warming

I hear temps have risen almost one degree Fahrenheit in the last 100 years. Scary, I can see why that would cause all sorts of crazy weather this year.
And don't forget the children, my god, the children living on a coastline somewhere. They will only have 50-100 years to outrun the rising tides barreling in at a few inches a year. Oh, the humanity. We should necessarily make our energy cost skyrocket in honor of those possible future casualties. In fact, we should redistribute as much of our wealth as we can, right now, to the people and cultures who just might, maybe, on the off chance, have to move their shit 50 feet inland. Of course, that's assuming any of the MMGW models actually ever pan out.

sounds like muyloco is saying the global cooling model is leading the global warming model 54-40 in the scientific polling.

where have i heard that before?

Yeah, never mind those pesky storms, forest fires, droughts and water shortages that also come with global climate change.

If I can find it, which I doubt, and if it were not out of date I would show you a study I did. If one adjusts for population and inflation, one can examine the upslope of insurance payouts from natural disasters. When I did the work, it was a steady upward slope. This is what convinced me that something was happening.

"wealth redistribution"? really? IS that what you fear? Well, I think we should turn up the heat on wealth redistribution until it can be absolutely proven that wealth redistribution is bad or detrimental to society. Until then, why, we can't really know.

Beyond that, if Global warming is real, there will already be wealth redistribution as those who have the most to lose get their premiums raised, and STILL lose their Malibu homes, getting low interest FEMA loans - from..... the rest of us

Thanks, Al Gore!

I see what you did there. Problem is, YOU'RE the aggressor in both circumstances. We just want to be left the fuck alone. It's not up to the person that wants to be left the fuck alone to prove his position. It's on the person putting his hand inside that guy's pocket. You want wealth redistribution? Make your case and I'LL decide if I want to comply. You want to implement hair-brained Eco-Loon schemes to solve the imaginary MMGW problem? Same deal. But, that's not your modus operandi. You want YOUR agenda forced on people who don't share your conclusions. You think you're Robin Hood, I think you're a dimwitted thief.

I got no snow this year, not in the mountains surrounding me, and not in my back yard. I like a little snow. There also is a very small snowpack, that means that water will either cost more or be ---ohhh nooo - regulated. So, you are stealing from me. I just want to be left alone, I want the water for my tomatoes. I don't happen to like forest fires near me, and we normaly get lots of them, but there are alerts already this year - You are endangering my home and my life. Why is it that the rich figure the commons are theirs to fuck with but they don't want us to demand compensation - in the form of wealth redistribution, in the same way they will be taking MY water and selling it to me.

Quit fucking the commons and quit telling me what my "share" of those commons are - THAT is wealth redistribution and you are taking from me.

You can continue to claim that I want your "wealth" all you want but we all owe on that national debt, not just some of us, so if you profited from OUR commons then you have the greater debt.

So long as you are unwilling to do anything or get behind any program that curtails or modifies what is now regarded as a problem with climate, You and yours are the thieves.

the imaginary MMGW problem
is that imaginary in the same way your 14 point romney lead was real?

You want YOUR agenda forced on people who don't share your conclusions.
no, that's what you want to do.

see how easy it is to take an unfounded accusation and blanket label it onto anyone whatsoever?

clown shoes, muy. you are clown shoes. just give up and go hang curtains.

You in California? Problem is Cali never supplied its own water, ever....even before your support of MMGW.

So, you are stealing from me.
Your state failed to provide you with precipitation.

YOUR water resides in YOUR well. If you don't have one, you don't have any water.

But you can't prove anything was stolen, only that your state suffers from water shortage....which it always has.

6 more inches of melted ice caps dropped on Pot Mountain last night. That's around 30" this week with more coming.

I would personally like to thank Al Gore for inventing global warming!

For sure... It's: "Climate Change"

Thank you God for climate change...
Or TY Al Gore.... Climate change is a really good thing...

Seriously.... I want the Peeps to try and stop climate change...
Why not throw Billions and billions at a problem that can not be stopped, but it feels so go to try to help mother earth...
The egos of the ones that think climate can be altered...
Are just as stupid as those that think there is no climate change...

So, what I am saying to you gas bags here:
Climate change can not be stopped...
Weather can not be altered...
However your massive ego's think/feel better
especially after you disparage the 'Other' side's unwilling to spend billions on a problem that will not and can not be fixed....

IMO.... Any one, every one.... that worries about Climate change/global warming....
For more that a second...
Is wasting energy....
Waste away....

Except for the inconvenient truth that your entire MMGW theory is false. That's where your argument fails. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice little rant, but it's all complete horseshit. Every single one of your "disasters" you attribute to MMGW would have to be proven to MY satisfaction before I'm supporting any Eco-Loon "fixes". And then, I would need you to prove the fixes will actually address the problem. Better get to work, that's a tall hill to climb. But as I said, the second you want me to curtail my energy use or pick my pocket, the ENTIRE burden of proof is on you.

Do you not owe your portion of our national debt?

so far as the rest is concerned, We've heard that song over and over again as the climate gets more strange. the fact is that there can never be proof for you. The oceans could rise to the top of the empire state building and you would fail to agree that there was a problem.

So long as you fail to understand the nature of the commons you will alway be behind those who pick MY pockets.

Oh, my little condescending buddy, I understand it far better than you could ever explain it. It doesn't change the fact the burden of proof is on you. And since you NEED to gain the support of so many people just like me, the tact you take only defeats your agenda.

I'm all for global warming. The fact it's happening naturally, only makes it that much sweeter. If you come up with some green energy that actually works, at a logical cost, I'll be the first one in line to buy it. But, you might as well come to terms with the fact that fossil fuels will be needed for the 10-20 years it will take to implement any miracle breakthrough on a national or global scale. That's 10-20 years AFTER the miracle breakthrough. You might see it happen in your lifetime, I think it's unlikely.

Where have I said that we should simply shut down all fossil fuel burning mechanisms? The POINT is that there will be no breakthroughs. The point here is wisdom. Careful about that burden of proof, it might not get you where you want to go.
