Democrats Run Away From Obamacare ??

don't say that.

it's well known that slavery played almost no part in the civil war. pay no attention to the declarative statements written at the time which proclaim otherwise as a basis for going to war.
Slavery certainly played a part. Both the Union States and the Confederate states practiced forms of slavery. The Union "enslaved" the states that wanted to leave the Union and disallowed them to leave, thus "enslaving them".. The ability to disassociate is what makes an entity free. Enslaving a political subdivision because they practiced slavery seems a rather odd way to end slavery.

The Union according to the Constitution had no "right" to prevent secession. The Confederates according to "conscience" had no right to enslave other people, although a small percentage actually held slaves.

If the Union had not waged a costly war, let the south depart and and simply NOT returned runaway slaves, slavery could have collapsed.

The better question might be - If a "state" wanted to secede but is prevented from doing so, is that state enslaved? Why not?

That is honestly the most naive shit I have ever seen in my life. Unless you meant to include "before the 1970's".

1970s?
Isnt that when the Mormons allowed blacks to be full members of the church? Why did they decide to do that?
Was that before or after they stopped classifying them as fallen angels who failed to side with god? I can't keep them straight, they change doctrine faster than I change underwear.

The leader of the senate is a mormon, his name is Harry Reid, and he is a Democrat. So that means BarryO and the Mormons are running the country right now. That means the Democratic shit hole is in Harry's under pants. It's a good thing they are magic under pants..

He supports contraception, any practicing mormon would tell you that he is full of shit from a religious standpoint. He denies god's will in open opposition to mormon beliefs.

Aside from Reid being a mormon in the sense that it gets votes; I haven't been terribly impressed with his or Obama's administration. Though I will say it was republicans that threatened to not pay me and my friends and their family back when I was still in the military.

It was after the NCAA threatened to unsanction them and the Feds were deciding on pulling their tax exempt status. That is when the elders received a revelation from GOD that blacks should be allowed to be full members.

Although they still teach that blacks are cursed becuase of their skin color

The 1970s was right after the democrats got together with the republicans and decided to swap party affiliations.
Following the civil right act, democrats called themselves republicans, except for Robert Byrd who never renounced the KKK until 1982.

If you look at the voting records, it follows state lines more then party lines. Also, that shift started before the 70's.

What I am saying is, racism is not exclusive to one party as some would like you to believe.<br>The civil rights act of 1964 made both parties aware that racism was not going to be tolerated by the masses, and to be more accurate, the shift as you call it, started before the civil rights act for many.

mormons are not opposed to contraception, just abortion.

youre thinking catholics.

mormons DO have some wacky ideas but that aint one of em.

and before the duggars are used as proof, mormons having large numbers of spawn is not proof of their opposition to birth control.

many mormon families are small, and many non mormon families are quite large.

there was no such "swap"

that is a carefully crafted meme designed to conceal the democrat's sea change on race (in public)

after the 64 civil rights act and the voting rights act, many black leaders in the south hatched a plan, instead of joining the republican party (the party of abolitionism and civil rights), the black leaders encouraged their folowers to register as DEMOCRATS and overwhelm the racist democrat party with their numbers and thus change the party from within.

while the republicans had welcomed black voters, and even had black delegations back in 1870 as well as the first black congressmen in that same year. (previously blacks had not been considered citizens)
in 1968, when the democrats, led by the Daley Machine kicked the first ever democrat black delegates out of their convention in chicago, and the brutality that followed, the democrats went into a tailspin.
faced with their party becoming a joke, the democrat leadership bowed to the inevitable and stopped fighting against civil rights.

over the next decade democrat leadership created a new fictional history for their party, claiming leadership on civil rights, and extolling their glorious resistance to racism (for black and liberal audiences) while maintaining their strangle hold on southern politics by only making their real views known from behind the anonymous security of a white sheet.

careful examination of what they DID rather than what they said makes clear that the democrats of the 70's were still liberal in the north, and racist as fuck in the south

in the 70's nixon's idiotic "southern strategy" to woo racists from the democrats was based largely in the butthurt over republicans feeling slighted when newly enfranchised blacks swarmed into the democrat party (to seize control of that party, not because they were grateful, only idiots could believe that) leaving the republicans to remain a minority in the south.

the endlessly repeated meme of a grand party switch, where democrats suddenly eschewed racism, and republicans perplexingly scrambled to adopt it's every tenet is RETARDED.

nor did all the racists flee the dems to become republicans, nor did all the non-racists abandon the republican party and become democrats. if that were the case, Robert "Grand Cyclops" Byrd would not have retained his senate seat (as a lifelong democrat) until his death in 2010.

while it is true that DEMOCRATS abandon their party for political expediency (see Bloomberg) quite frequently, when a republican switches, IT'S NEWS.

conservatives believe in loyalty and choose their party for the platform it espouses and the ideas it supports. these ideas (like robert byrd's love for the Klan) dont change overnightand republicans rarely switch party, but when they do, it is to choose independant, libertarian, or some other third party, the do NOT become democrats. that would require abandoning everything they believe in, and if they can do that, they were never conservatives in the first place.

TLDR version: there was no "great switch", thats a bullshit meme to make democrats feel better about their historical (and continuing) opposition to civil rights

I know more than a few active mormons, and "be fruitful and multiply" is scripture for them. While the newest generation may make an exception; the 40+ crowd is not down with birth control. Of the dozens of mormon couples I have known, none of them use birth control. There is wiggle room for it these days, but that's not how the old guard rolls.

there is no doctrine, or prohibition on contraception.

that is false.

the catholics DO have a prohibition on rubbers and hormone pills. they only permit the "rhythm method", pulling out, or using altar boys.

lee atwater begs to differ. so does jesse helms and no small number of others.

you are a historical revisionist selling a completely false bill of goods.

a perfunctory glance over at stormfront proves you unremittingly wrong.

a survey of those opposed to civil rights on this very forum proves you 100% wrong.

your lies are growing ever more tiresome and obvious.
