Alternative Curing Method

Anyone else use a method similar? or anything other than the average way of dry/cure?

Anyway, I have discovered a method that eliminates the need for curring - at least it has in my experience.

You harvest by first trimming all the major leaf foliage that lacks visible reson. Then you flush the plant in the dark for about a week. If you don't have a good way of doing this use a bucket with a flushing solution and an air stone and submerge the roots. IDK if this will work with cut stems - but it can't hurt to try.

After 5-7 days you remove the flushing plants and hang to dry. Waiting until a thick branch will snap is too long IMO but you definitely want a sharp fold with some snap feeling.

I would then place product into jars - if it is too wet the following day I would leave the jars open over night and try again till you get where you want to be. After that there should be no hay smell and you should be good to go.

I think with this method the flushing removes a lot of the chlorophyll and other undesirables which is what curring is supposed to break down, hence eliminating the need for curring. As for THC "converting" I'd be interested to see something less anecdotal. After all THC isn't even water soluble and is on the plant surface so I don't know why it would need time after drying to carry out this process. I could be wrong but I haven't heard any complaints with this new method.

Know what I'd like to see?

Bud tested for potency immediately before jarring, then re-tested a month or 2 after.

B/C I'm not sure that curing does anything other than reduce plant/chlorophyll taste.

I have heard it does, and tried curing for 2 months at 62%...and have not seen enough to convince me it is even necessary.

I do it anyways, why I do not know.

Haha yeah i think you might be right and the only way to know is a test, the labs results will be here one day will all the legalization happening we'll even find new techniques.

It's common sense that potency rises after dry/cure because the starches are broken down and burned off. Without those starches and sugars, more of the plant mass is resin.

Of course starch also tastes terrible and goes stale fast, so a proper cure is essential to good tasting weed regardless of what the potency is.
