hi i am new to the site so forgive me if this is the wrong place but i recently stumbled upon 5 150 watt master color philips ceramic halide metal cmh lightbulbs in my supply closet and wanted to make some use of them. My idea was to start growing one big plant with these. I want to maximize the ability of these but im having trouble finding something i can actually screw these bulbs into? Not sure if i can by a common lamp and power it with a ballast or if buying a 150 watt regular light fixture housing would work. i really appreciate any suggestions/tips

yes you need a ballast dont get digital. you need 1 for each light.

By stumble do you mean free Northbob. If so I need to walk where you walk..lol. I have no clue bout HID systems. Try posting this question in the main indoor thread someone there can provide better help.

i think you could go get a 600 watt non digital and then get 3 more wires ceramic ends to screw into and make it so 4 bubls can run off the 600.

keeps me out of trouble most of the time. I won my bid now i have a 150 hps system on the way, should get it monday. Its winter and im broke so this money means no booze/drinking for 2 weeks. its worth it. i so cant wait then i can get the mother plants in bigger pots and they will be only plants with clones in veg area. Im gonna visit jointed(cool dude) this summer and i want to have a nice bag to bring him so he can smoke till his is harvested.

you and me both. i would love that plant. i won my bid and now 1 side of closet is led/cfl and other is gonna be hps. when it gets here i can do 7 plants in flower. Im so happy. cant wait for the big lights this summer.

DC your gonna be busy as hell! I'm just gonna try to clone from an outdoor mother and flower under cfls. I hope to have a decent harvest through out the summer until fall harvest of mothers. I'm not switching lights anytime soon, small space for now.

yeah i got 3 in now. but 2 are wide they went nuts. i jsut want to get then out of veg area. even if i only get 2 oz buds smokable and some great hash ill be happy. till i can learn the lights and air injection better.
