16 plants vs 5 plants under 600w light

hey guys just wondering if any of you guys have experimented with both large numbers of plants and smaller numbers of plants under a 600 watt light in a 1.2 x 1.2 metre growing area. I was at my local shop today and the guy behind the counter thought that perhaps I might be over ambitiious by putting 16 plants under one light. I have had success with this method before with each plant yeilding an oz totalling 16 oz from one light however it was a hell of a lot of work and it was suggested to me today that a similar yeild would be achived with only five or so plants in the same area. Im looking for advice from someone who has tried both methods.
Thanks in advance =)

Either way you will yield about the same. The Sea of Green method is faster while the fewer plants is the mainstream way lol. The benefit of a sea of green is that if one plant her ms or dies you don't loose as much.

And sorry for the poster above me, a lot of people on here are being douches today.

not trying to be a dick just being honest.
Unless you got something in mind already probably not wise to ask this if you don't want opinions.

Just save your seeds for when you move up and upgrade think about it
start with 2-4 big plants and yield a lot and make it worth it
spend some money and buy more equipment and/or upgrade
go from that 600W to 2 600W (Better than 1000W because of heat and lighting space) and get a bigger tent or area to grow
now grow 6-12 plants with uncle bens 4 top method and have each plant with 4 huge colas + side branching
next time after that grow spend some money on another set of lights either T5/8s, 400W, or 600W and put it in your old tent/area and use that for vegging 10+ plants and your old area for flower
congratz now you got a perpetual that can probably have you harvesting every week or a large amount every few months

^^This dude smh. Anyways OP, your numbers are cool dude. Keep yourself a mom make clones n keep on chugging. 16oz/600 is a high g/watt based on your username. Benefits of high numbers is no veg time and a few extra harvests a year.

thanks for the replies guys have been away from growing for a bit cant wait to get stuck in again probably gonna do 2 x 600w to start with just a lil nervous of only doing a few plants and not getting the desired yield as ive only done sea of green in the past, one was an amazing yield and the other only yielded half the amount. Gonna go with dinafem blue cheese I think probably only veg to about 12 inches or so would this make a big difference when doing less plants?
