Where to get a good organic soil

Anyone have an online source (in the US) to order some good organic soil? Local garden centers don't really have anything. Just getting back into growing after a 10y hiatus. Growing indoors, just ordered a grow tent kit from growace. Have some seedlings started already, ordered seeds from the UK, blackberry and fruit punch.

get earth worm castings, perlite, cocoir, and dirt... use that for the early stages. while your vegging you are going to want to cook some dirt yourself. get N and P guanos, alfalfa, kelp, oystershells, bone meal, blood meal, feather meal, and cook all that with your left over castings , perlite cocoir and dirt for your flowering stage dirt. obviously if u go this way check out measurements before u actually do. then you just need water basicly ... some teas twice amonth and add CaMg. try using rain water or RO water.... super simple once dirt is ready. theres a lot other indgredients you will need. check out sub superl dirt or something. I use TLO true living organics method and tweak off their. both are super organic

Find a local nursery. I get a great mix from a Japanese bonsai shop.

Another good place is a landscaping shop. Hyroot turned me on to one near me and they have organic compost for 7 bucks a bag.

They usually contain bugs and ants so be prepared to introduce some new creatures to your grow area.

I agree with your post, and yes this is what many members do, but man!!! ..to me thats a lot of work, for this reason why I suggest to buy it in, and as a grower to concentrate on growing rather than the soil science side of it ....lol
...but then again OP didn't say how much he wanted .....lol

Um, yes, that would certainly work, but with my work schedule, I don't have the time or energy for this, lol, hence wanting to buy ready made.

So the spikes are actual spikes right lol I read the directions on website it said use 1-2 TBS on the all purpose spike. I'm thinking of getting the starter pack and was wondering about it.

If u have access to a garden center then why not create your own mix. They almost always carry bagged compost from cows or leaves. Humus or composted manure. That will provide your N source. U need peat for fluff and texture and perlite for drainage. Add to that a few minerals (amazon or eBay) and that's all you need for a nice balanced mix. If u need a recipe just ask. I'll help u with the ingredients.

I found a place not too awful far from me that carries the foxfarm soil, so I picked that up. Am going to transplant my seedlings into Earthbox containers that have an automatic watering system. Just got a 5x5 grow tent kit with a 600w hid from growace, and will have them in there in the next day or two.
