First Time Grower: Burning Questions!

Its my First time growing and i would like some help from some experience growers

Ive gotten some seed from Sea of Seeds and germinated 2 seeds using the cup of water then paper method,
the seeds crack after 19 hours, and i did see the tap roots poking out then i got the soil ready to plant the seeds, now here are the problems,
after getting the soil ready i went to check on the seeds (which were in sandwich ziplock bags and paper towel) and noticed that the tap root kinda went back into the the shell.
Another issue was, accidentally dropped one of the seed on the floor(don't know if it will cause any damage to the seed)

if you guys are wondering what are the seeds, they are Sour Diesel & Purple Auto

-i am also wondering how long will it normally take for a germinated seed to sprout from soil

every comment is greatly
appreciated

Just leave them in the moist paper towel until they're about 1/4 inch long at least. 1/2 is better. Be patient. I don't think dropping the seed is going to hurt it. Be cautious not to over wet your soil either. Remember the soil probably allready has enough moisture and the seed isn't really using much water. Less is more. Welcome to riu.

It should take a day, day and a half to break soil. Stab the soil with a pencil. Gently place taproot down just beneath soil level and lightly cover seed with soil. The seed doesn't need any light so just be cool and don't blast the hell out of it with lumens. The seedling will need little light at first.

Thanks for the quick responds
What I did was I watered the soil and let it sit for a couple of minutes before planting the seeds, then i dropped the seed in a half inch hole and covered the seed with some soil then poured some water over it. I made sure the soil was able to drain out the excess water.
I made a mistake by watering 6 hours later seeing that the top of the soil was dry.
So I made a humidity dorm with clear sandwich bag where I cut some slits and mist the inside of the bag and placed it over the soil and the other with a clear Tupperware leaving a gap from soil to Tupperware to maintain moisture.

Any tips?
