So Im already in about week 4 of flowering under a has panel I bought which I use in a space that is to small and want to uprdae and keep that space to start seedlings and veg in, my question is assuming I can build whatever space I like to flower in would 2 80 watt hans or area 51 RW-150 be best.

I want to flower 2-3 plants at a time and scrog them, Im already pretty decided on the area 51 but would just like the extra push from the RIU community, thoughts?

The hans I have vegged it so well I just can't help but feel my restricted flowering height (panel is 6-8 inches from canopy) gives me an inaccurate perception of well it performs in flower, I am going to upgrade lights and build a more suitable spec regardless, it just seems a more centered intense light source is better than 2 less intense spread light sources would be as far flowering 2 plants is concerned, Hans' product and customer service was very prompt and awesome though, RW-150 just seems better for future upscaling should I decide to go bigger again.

I just need a push to purchase I guess

I'm not dogging the 150s but there's a reason they developed the 190. If you are looking for a bigger and badder upgrade 190 all the way. Apache, from what I've read, is the bentley of the led industry. Every person has their opinion but so far I love my 190. I plan on getting 2-4 more as soon as I see results from my harvest.

I read the specs they give on their website and the 190 juuuusst beats the 150 and the newer tech and spectrum seems like the better choice, of course no one has one yet to say whether or not its better but it seems like the 150 would be the better one, although I do love the white light the 190 gives off, looking at the Hans always makes me feel like Im at a gay rave.

Im upgrading to something either way and cheers for the advice, 190 is definitely a viable option.

Would be awesome if Jeff could chime in and explain the pros and cons of both *wink wink*

There was a thread somewhere that discussed spectrums and why the 190 was made and is better than the 150. Either way the light will grow

sweet, Ill search for the thread, seems odd they wouldn't try 'improve' on the last light but I guess its possible

I believe they made it to where you could upgrade your old light.

Please don't take offense because I'm shooting from the hip but I do believe I read that their spectrums from the 150 were good but studies have shown the 190 spectrum to be up to par with required spectrums etc..

na I don't take offense, just trying to make an educated decision, Im now swaying toward the 190 just cause the white light is easier on the eyes IMO.

Do you think the spectrum is more suited to flowering on the 150? bearing in mind it will be used purely for flowering.

cheers for the link

I cannot answer that. I haven't experienced flower with different lights. I'm hoping the 190 does just as well. As for the umols listed on the site the 190 seems adequate!

cheers, I just spent 3 hours upgrading my space, got about triple the size now so Ill keep the old space for veg and use the new one to flower.

I now have a 20Wx48Lx55H space which is a massive upgrade, I will finish out the flower of the strawberry cough in this space under the Hans and order 3 more types of beans and decide on the perfect light whilst I finish the flower and veg the new beans.

Thanks for your input Jartlow, if anyone else can comment on the spectrum preference for flower between the 2 area 51s I would greatly appreciate it and still will consider 2 new 80w Hans.

Thanks guys and gals

Imo I think the new 150 will out perform the 190 and the 75 will out perform the Hans 65 and 80. With 630 leds and 5700k-6200k white leds. In full flower mode. There should be an over all higher cri than past panels. By that more of an even spectrum. More even the spectrum the better the results imo.

another thing to take in to consideration, where you located ?

I would love to be able to buy the A-51 light but Im in Scandinavia EU and if I order it I have to pay Vat/Tax on +20% wile the Hans panel is sold from Holland I believe so I would not have to pay any tax as its inside EU, dunno how it is the other way around or where you at, just give it a thought

also when you consider shipping time, also if some thing break and you have to use the warranty

the Hans Panel is top quality inside but don't have any secondary lenses, IMOO its a perfect Panel for a small scrog or similar, two Panels could probably flower 2-4 plants in your space depending on size

the Area-51 have them secondary lenses (I have a panel with and with out both different brands tho) and will have double the penetration and cover about the same space as two hans panels

both would be a good choice, I dunno about spectrums, but I do know my Bulldog panel I got customized for flower work great and do have a majority of Red`s (630/660) and some 6500K and a handful of 455, well more easy to show you I guess

DSC01346.jpgDSC01347.jpg

and I believe the Red`s to support more dense flowers, but thats just my believe

I know what I would do if it was me, also based on being located in EU

I would get another Hans panel and do a scrog with them two Hans panels in your new space, and then just get a small t5 fixture or a bunch of CFLs and Veg with them, works fine (I use T5HOs) as MJ only need 1/3 of the light in Veg as it need in flowering to thrive and grow and if you like me have 7-9 weeks flowering time you have plenty of time to Veg in, if I start 4 new under my tube`s at the same time I put my 4 Veg plants under the LEDs and 12/12 they easily get "too" big under 4x49W T5HO in them 8 weeks time

Hey Slip. When you buy from the US and have it shipped abroad, you dont have to pay US taxes on their product. Were you on a vacation there and bought something, showing the proof of purchase and amount to customs in the airport, you should be refunded the percentage you paid in taxes. Talk to area-51 and figure out if they do that kind of service.

I know some do, did it with motor bike parts, sort of, made em write a price on the note that was like 1/3 of the real price so got off with like 7% tax (just don't make it look to cheep)

also, that light in the picture actually arrived at 4 at night, so I guess the airport personal/customs was at coffee break :D so it can "slip" pass

but normally you get a note from the local post office that you can collect you packet when you paid the 20% tax and what extra fee they put on (believe it was about 30$)

That was kind of what I figured, plus it seems like a really well made panel with a warranty and plenty of positive feedback so it seems like the best choice.

As for purchase some fluros to veg with and buying another hans it may sound strange or "snobby" but I want to keep my grows pure LED. I know that the fluros will work perfectly fine and are tried and true but LED fascinates me and I believe they are the future and am a slight tech nerd so I stick to LED.

Cheers for the input.

As for the space heres a pic, forgive the shitty quality my girlfriend has the camera so its just from my phone

As you can see there is plenty of space to accommodate the upgrade.

On an unrelated note after putting the lady in her new space I noticed the humidity has risen to concerning levels 70% +/- where as before in the smaller cab it was between 50-60, Im quite worried now cause I realise 50 and below is optimal.

It is just coming into autumn (fall for my 'murican bros) and has been raining very heavily here, should I invest in a dehumidifier?

LOL the 150 is their "newest" light.. So by your logic nobody should by the 190 now because "there's a reason they developed the" 150?
