OPINION please! BADDASS Ballast. Please review in this thread

dude, I feel bad for you. my last lumateks warranty ran out and im never buying from them again. they have only a couple people working there and good luck on a return for warranty. if you'd like, I can email you all the correspondence I had with them and you will easily see that yeah, lumateks may be pretty good but customer service blows and it could be months before you get your replacement. ill never own a lumatek again...

you always carry a chance. after the "Lumitek Experience" lol I am careful what brand I choose, and make sure returning is simple no bull process before I buy. but seriousy, ill pony up the ordeal I had to anyone who has questions about lumatek's warranty process. if you search for it on the web, you will see many more than me making the same claims...If they do go bad, you will go thru hell and back to get it replaced in a timely and professional manner from lumitek direct.

my experience with lumatek is that the fanless model is fucking great. It runs cool and give little rf interference for me.

and honestly...for two hundred bucks...If one went bad I wouldn't even fuck around with a warranty and just go buy another lol.

I do realize that huge mega corporations may have other things to worry about than one ballast going bad.

Do you have a light meter? I'm curious if they really do put off more lumens like they claim.

I don't have one, but its a good point you make and worth the few bucks to get one. I promised id report back the initials. Im going to receive it tomorrow, and install it tomorrow night after I get off work

lol it will be running right next to my lumatek fanless 400 and my digital greenhouse...ill post pics tomorrow night anyway to update my journal. my aeroflo and my royal purple kush is fkn rockin right now as well as my organics. I just filled my rez and flipped 2 days ago, running advanced's grand master system with connoisseur as the base. they are absolutely stout and kicking butt

I just dont' trust AN and all their hype. Waaaay to much bs in their marketing imo.

but if the badass ballast didnt' have a fan it looks interesting if they really are that much brighter.

joe I send my ex 225 dollars a week for the past 12 years for support for my one and only daughter. I work 2 minimum wage jobs, every penny counts for me. but im gonna keep an eye on that fan issue and ill post whatever information I can collect after I get it up and running tomorrow night...

I wont debate though to each their own. Although nutes and lights are equal?

To the topic at hand. I bought a cheap ipower ballast. A few actually and they havent died. On top the company gave me an extended 5 year warrenty when mine ran out. I only had to send the old models I had in for thew new models with turbo fans and advanced dimming.

right on, he's a good looking dog. and wow, it doesn't surprise me. a lot of deadbeats run away from paying support. But yeah, Ive worked my ass off and pay. My 2 week checks are worth a dollar an hour. The second job pays the bills at my small place to live.

I didn't buy my 400, It was a gift. I usually buy 1000 waters...

I think by the end of my grow, I am going to share my tea process as well as ingredients. Ive been tuning it for years and does a fabulous job

but back on topic, ill post back tomorrow regarding the information on how the ballast is doing..

I was looking at them too on amazon. And solis tek, and some old fashion core and coils..there was only 2 square wave ballasts...advanced's baddass and the hortilux platinum. Im sure the hortilux with their bulb would be the best bet, I just didn't have 600 to spend

but joe seems cool to me bro, he didn't "demoralize"me like others do in here to AN users. And I respect that greatly!

I also just confirmed, this ballast IS UL Listed in the USA. That is not an easy certification to get, those certifications are not "just given out". Again, once I install it, I will post a report on the initial findings of brightness, ease of use, and whatever else I can provide information on.

the utube video of it I saw looked pretty awesome It would be easy for them to dim one ballast or overdrive another though. I'm curious as to how it compares to your other digitals.
