Yeah, I believe in a more scientific approach to the universe and how we come to be personally, too. I was raised a Catholic but started do research years ago when I was in high school.

imvho, the poll is worded kind of wrong.. asking do i believe in religion, sure, i believe there's such a thing as religion and tons of people believe in the flying spaghetti monster, no doubt about that..
i think it should say something more like, do you follow a religion, or are you religious, not simply asking if we believe in religion as i'd think everyone believes in religion, pretty much the same way i believe walking under a ladder is bad luck, or putting a hat on a bed is bad luck.. picking up what i'm putting down here?

I get what you're trying to ask.

The problem is there are people who use religion as a manipulative tool to control people en masse. These same people give the ideal of "Religion" a bad name. I believe there is a purpose, we couldn't have all these amazing symbiotic designs that keep all life on earth growing on accident, it must tie Into the meaning/purpose of life...I believe if there is a God, then we have fallen so far away from his design or goal, that it may be beyond repair, or Perhaps it may be so simple that a single word or sentence could change the world and begin our quest in discovering the truth. Perhaps if we succumb to the ultimate Feeling of Love, that equal presence of Hate around us would disappear.

First of all, glad riu is back on-line.

It's sorta funny how organised religion scares people so much.
It's been here thousands of years since you were born and will be here for thousands of years after you die.
It clicks for you or it doesnt.
When it does, it's a wonderful thing.
It could be Christianity, Buddhism, Satanism etc.

This is an old topic that will eat up more 'NEW' server space.
