Never growing Chem Dog again !!!

Holy crap ! That is one stinky ass weed.

Lights off...my house smells good.
Lights on..it's eye watering.
Even after harvesting the tent still reeks.
I'm used to growing sweeter strains, BB, SS etc...stuff that is easy to control smell wise. A couple scented candles was enough to mask the smell...it still smelled like weed. but you didn't need a gasmask either.
So until I can afford a charcoal intake filter I'm staying away from strains like Chem Dog.
Get high just off the smell...

It did turn out great though..some of most crystalline weed I've ever grown. ( and seen )

Taste is somewhere between Diesel and Champagne. Smooth though yet still thick and oily...well flushed...clean from first hit to last. And that wasn't even cured yet.

Even though I live where you can grow...I have good neighbors and I'd like to keep it that way. ( Not everybody likes the smell of pot..especially when it smells like roadkill skunk..lol )

Peace

I'm not kidding about the crystals..nothing but...it actually sparkles when you move it in the light.
I'll try and find a decent camera and post pics.
Amazing looking, smelling and tasting and gets you stoned to the bone. And the ROO factor is crazy...must be an 1/8 to 1/4 inch at times. The roach is just a black oily sticky need a pipe to finish it.

Just be prepared for the smell. I wasn't.

YOU HAVE TO DIAL IN THE TEMP ,HUMIDITY AND LIGHT JUST RIGHT! ANY STRESS WILL CAUSE THE PLANT TO MAKE POLLEN!

Cotten Candy was that strain for me... Uncontrollable smell both growing and smoking it. Have a triple wrapped bag and people still stare when you walk by... Never again, ended up having to move it was so strong smelling. I grow 3x the plants now with plenty of lovely stink (jack herer, herijuana, trainwreck) and have very little problem... That shit was crazy

My last dogs produced sum seeds lime but was still a lovely smoke, since I got a temp controller that stopped the negative pressure, the smell and heat went away from outside my tent and that until u open the door

I have a Cotton Candy about 5 weeks into flower now. It sure is taking its good old time. It almost has a little more Sativa in her I think. I didnt think it was going to do much but she's finally starting to crystal up some. I think she's gonna be a sleeper. She might be a little slower than the other girls in my room, but now I'm thinking she might fool everybody. She will be the last one done thats for sure.

Stress only helps the hermaphrodite genetic come out, because the plant fears that its at the end of its life and needs to produce seed as soon as possible... Out pops a male flower.

The Hermie gene HAS to be present and in MANY cases, it is. I Wouldn't want to guess or fathom the percentage of hermies to true females in the marijuana world, but its VERY significant.. It is NOT the seed companies fault so much. Unless they used hermaphrodites exclusive for breeding "feminized" plants.. I use the term "feminized" loosely.

Hmmm, I run a very original cut and I've never had a herm problem. Stinky? Skunky? Ok so it does put out a large smell and it does come on as kinda skunky......But the sweet lemony flavor and dry/cured smell is like lemon drops...The only strain I run that the Trichome's produce better is my Ghost Cut OG. That comprises 2 of the 3 most requested strains from my patients.

To Ben.
Yes the first part is true to a point,,,,stress tends to make nanners more then actual hermies.
Herming is directly linked to poor genetic breeding practice. To sit in one's basement and put A strain and B strain together to make C strain and to use only a small amount of stock to choose from is asking for nothing but poor genetics and weakening the gene pool. How many well intending souls do just that and then do no back crossing for stabilizing of the new strain? Do you have the space and time (not to mention the capitol, the space or the time) to look through 500+ young plants to find maybe 20 worth breeding for your project? The sad part is I have gotten a BAD Nanner shooting strain from a "respected" breeder. Damnest thing too. 10 beans, 3 pheno's, 2 of them nannered no matter what you did and the 3erd one ran like a pro.

There is a term for a "stray nanner" but I do not recall off hand, yes, these plants that display this trait, are not true hermies..

However, in most cases, the genetic for hermaphroditing is present, rather than not.

Which is exactly why I used generalized terms, in an effort to head off any one from specifically making a claim against me, either way. =) LOL!

In fact, I read from Bud Green's book that, these "One offs" that throw off a male flower are EXACTLY the ones you want to make seed from, because the resulting seeds would be "truly feminized", in which a female truly bred with herself, without passing down the hermaphrodite genetic.

This is where I got all my information from by the way. Ed, Jorge and Bud.. hehehe.. The 3 amigos.
