Beautiful girl Jack!!! As far as the trichs, I do see alot of clear with a few cloudy and amber. That being said I wouldn't worry to much about it, but I'm a believer in 24hr dark before chop and hanging whole plant cut at base to start dry. In hope of more trich production. Don't have any science to proof it, just something I've had recommended to me.And the 7th.
View attachment 3041519 Now, do those look like clear amber trichs on that last pic? I hope not.
Hasta,
Jack
Thanks skinny appreciate the kind words. I will definitely be dark the last 24 the only problem with keeping it whole, with the cola's intertwined in the screen that might be difficult. We will see in a few more weeks.Beautiful girl Jack!!! As far as the trichs, I do see alot of clear with a few cloudy and amber. Actually I will be trimming the screen out from around the buds and should be able to keep it whole or pretty close to it. Now this is not a reason not to Scrog. There is no way that I would have the production that I have if I didn't Scrog, I mean, look at my canopy, with only 250 watts of lighting. To get that with just LST or FIMing or topping or anything else would be very difficult IMO and based on the many grows I have looked at. Now if you have a lot more light it would be a different story. But for a grow like mine I think Scrog is the way to go.So your saying that in order to get screen out you may have to cut some branches? Is so I understand. Thats why I haven't scrog'd yet. I gotta work on my plant training skills..lol
Welcome to RIU and to my grow. As far as my light mounts. I grow on a budget so almost everything you see on my thread is DIY and that is true of my lights. I went to 1000bulbs.com and ordered the mogul sockets, you can find those here. Then I went to Lowes and bought a 3 foot length of 2 inch wide 1/8 inch thick strap steel. I cut a piece about 7-8 inches long. I put that in my vise and bent it 90 degrees then drilled holes where you see my marks. Then mount up your socket. The socket comes with a paper gasket, make sure you put that between the socket and the metal bracket. It allows for expansion as the socket warms up. Probably only needed for HID but why take a chance. The ones in the beginning were made of aluminum, but they weren't strong enough, If you can get thicker aluminum then you can use that and it would be easier to drill and bend. But these lights are pretty heavy so make sure you use good size screws to mount the whole assembly to your board or whatever you are mounting them to. Hope that helps and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Go ahead and post up your setup and pics if you have them so we can see what you have.Great looking grow!
I'm looking for better light sockets to mount the same 125 watt type of bulbs for my cabinet. The ones you have in the first couple pics of the 1st post, that mount nicely with screws look way better than what I've found, what are they called and where'd you pick them up?
