Not me. Got fantastic chernobyls 3 out of 5 tries. A terrific Ripped Bubba 1st bean - same w/ 2 Timewrecks. Of course, all I look for is a fine smoke.

I'm certainly no fan of TGA. I find him and his crew to be obnoxious and cult like. Besides while others may disagree, I've never smoked a strain I simply had to have by them. Seen enough gardens and I can't be bothered by intersexed plants. Flavors are always nice, I can give them that, but potency is lacking and I'd easily put any of my gear up against a TGA strain any day of the week to be honest. Sure there are exceptions. With regards to Rare Dankness, I've been tempted and seen some awesome grows and some subpar grows. His woman/partner is a bit annoying in the large thread at times but that's no reflection on their gear, only their attitude. As a consumer, I'd rather my money go to consistent genetics and humble as well as responsive breeders.

I disagree with your statement that TGA is all looks and no potency, there are enough tests online to prove you false as well.

If TGA was that terrible you wouldn't see so many people interested in their strains. Off the top of my head I can pull out straight up winners.

I try not to contradict myself. The two Blueberry Hills girls I had are not my most potent, but I still have 14 beans to sort through Despite her not being my strongest smoke, she is great for a nice day smoke, has an amazing blueberry pepper smell and taste and can out yield the rest of my Bodhi gear thus far. That's why she stays in my garden. We all have different tastes with regards to potency, and usually I love the knock outs but it's good to have a variety in the line up, know what I'm saying my friend? I know we disagree, and I don't doubt your line up as you are a good grower. I've just never encountered anything I've wanted from TGAs offerings is all. That could change, I'm not bone headed. I just can't see myself spending a good chunk of change based on what I've seen grown in person, on the boards and based on what I've smoked. Too risky. It's not just money, it's time as those plants would take up space that could otherwise be occupied by other plants that I'd trust to turn out well. I recently learned this while growing some bag beans from Dr green thumbs Iranian g13. Not sure if it was self or a random pollen donor but that plant took up 2 months of time and space. Granted it was crazy to see a straight up hermi plant with bananas growing out from the female flowers.

Your viewpoint is not wrong at all though, from your experiences you have not had top 10's so it is completely understandable. I have tried some top shelf TGA as well as bottom shelf TGA and there are big differences. Not all plants grow the same in all climates, altitudes, settings. So where blueberry kush could work for me as a top shelf strain you may only get a B or C grade and you would feel the same way as you do right now.

My disagreement wasn't just for you; there are lots of people who chuck the hermie/low potency rap on TGA everytime the name comes up - kind of like how some folks jump all over those poor, misguided 'auto' fans, ya dig?

But most folks who make those blanket statements on TGA ignore the many people - some well regarded - who post of their extreme happiness. I've always thought you to be a much more thoughtful cat.

I think my analogy is correct, im pretty blitzed right now. Smoking on some Kosher Tangie (DNA i think or RP) and some of my Jack Skellington (TGA). The KT is much more knock back but the JS is much more uplifting.

I've been rotating Cheese Dom [ half TGA Cheese Quake ] with Somango for daylight buzzin' since I ran out of c-99 [ that's soon to be corrected ! ]. I'd love to hit that Skellington - the JTR crosses always agree w/ me - have some Ace of Spades in early veg. ' High' hopes there.

I bought 3 packs of TGA years ago. Cheesequake, Jillybean, and Plushberry. I never grew out the Plushberry due to hermie reports that were popping up after I bought them. They're still chillin in the vault. Something about the Black Cherry Soda mother that was used IIRC. I only got 1 female from my pack of Jilly, and it ended up being pretty nice. Easy to grow, VERY nice orange creamsicle smell (that didn't translate over to the taste) and a really generous yield. The potency was just OK, but as Amos pointed out in another thread it's nice to have some not-so-potent jars of weed in the rotation too. Effect and potency are two different things.

Cheesequake: Still have it in my garden. Not a single female looked alike out of the 4-5 that I had to choose from, but the one I settled on is very nice. Again, not super potent but it's a pleasant Indica high. What's most striking about this plant is how it tastes EXACTLY like it smells. Grape/lavendar crossed with cheese. Everyone that tries it likes it. If we ever cross paths I'll give you a sample to puff on. You may really like it.

As for potency with TGA, I think the poster above had it right. JTR crosses is where it's at. I've sampled TGA JTR (and it's crosses) from other growers, and those really brought the punch. If you're looking for a strong TGA strain, that's where I'd spend my money.

I don't want to miss attribute your quote, but I can assure you in my many years of being a daily smoker, buying bulk of cali imports back in the dark ages, and always on the hunt for the "best" (subjective I know), I am familiar with what others would agree are amazing strains. If you were only referring to TGA, then you may have a point. I've certainly had what many consider to be the best of many of the clone only and generally high regarded strains.

I don't want to miss attribute your quote, but I can assure you in my many years of being a daily smoker, buying bulk of cali imports back in the dark ages, and always on the hunt for the "best" (subjective I know), I am familiar with what others would agree are amazing strains. If you were only referring to TGA, then you may have a point. I've certainly had what many consider to be the best of many of the clone only and generally high regarded strains.

Problem with people claiming they have the "best" is that in reality they may have the best of the moment, but moments pass slow or fast and someone else will find the real diamond and release it. The potency scale has been sliding up for many years, we have hit a plateau of about 30% I believe for flowers but that doesn't mean in ten years we won't have bread to 31-35%, Who knows maybe someone will genetically modify a DabTRee.

Best is very subjective, I agree. I do think many though appreciate high quality plants universally. I'm certainly not claiming to have the best, but that's what I'm striving for, the best for my garden. It's not simply the end result as us growers learn, but how the plant is in other regards. Edited to add: bashing autos is doing future growers a favor so they don't waste their time. I will always get a chuckle out of anyone claiming their auto is better than any regular plant from good parental stock genetics. Even further humorous is the fact one can't clone that oxymoron "awesome plant".

I don't believe any THC test over my body and mind...Least not untill they can explain how every single terpene and cannabanoid interacts with one another..many a supposed 15%er has hit me harder then a 20% and above sample.

that's why I love growing, the possibilities are literally endless.

They have many more strains I will eventually run but they had been number one as a breeder for me to the point that I was going to try and run nothing but tga. This experience with the company has just made me realize that there are other talented breeders I should try and that I should not put people on a pedestal.

Agreed, but also don't overlook some of those hidden gems out there. I have a monster C99 from G13 Labs, it smells so good and is as big as my arm. Lots of people said not to go with that one but hell it was a little cheaper. I wouldn't say its top shelf yet as its not done and I haven't smoked it but it looks pretty bitchin.
