Lol
Yeah the teachable moment passed when he missed Murphy's point.
Nope, you lost me here.:
Oh selling?
Never mind translove
You came off like you had your nose in the air, like someone who, having obtained a card, swore off all association with the new underclass. I've seen people do that here, and in other genre, and it disgusts me thoroughly. People do sell weed, growers sell it to dispensaries or dealers and it goes from there. As far as donations go, that's politics. I give to those in need as well, but that's not the way the system works, legal or otherwise. Marijuana is the worlds largest cash crop, and the growers should enjoy the lions share, considering they do the work. I have been a street dealer in the past, so I get that end of things as well. I didn't set out to grow for sale, I just wanted perpetual. Last fall, I had a hermie problem from bad genetics, so I took the one solid strain I had, cloned it, killed the rest, and got a couple seeds and clones to start over with, under my 12 plant limit. Those grew and soon became 10 flowering girls. During this grow, I upgraded the room substantially, and added a 1kw light which, yielded a fuckload more weed than I needed or wanted.
I had been going through this one dispensary since I had began smoking again after a 4 year break, and had been spending about 4-5 hundred a month there. I had 2 oz over once last year which she happily picked up for 225 a jar. I sold her clones and bought a couple, all is well. This harvest comes, and I had been talking about it with her excitedly for the last couple months, she said she would be happy to take overages if I had any. Since the last stuff I gave her sold for 10/g, and she gave me 225, I felt that asking for 300$/30g for this, a much higher quality smoke, was completely reasonable.
I apologized for being a novice at selling, that wasn't the point of my grow, in that I didn't know what I should be charging. Asking if my prices were out of line, she said "No, but I never pay over 175 for an ounce". Um, yes you did was my unspoken response. At 300, I'm pretty much handing her 120$ to set it on the shelf in her store.
This, coupled with the apparent fact that I can get my meds cheaper and get paid more for overages on the street than in the store, and also that the growers will predictably keep the best for themselves unable to get a return on their investments, the whole medical marijuana thing could end up on its ear, and I don't want to see that happen short of outright decriminalization.
