Cloning, am I doing it right?

I'm looking for some helpful criticism from experienced cloners. Check out the pics and let me know what I'm doing wrong. I have them under some T-8's at 24:7, under a dome.

Yep. I only see one in each tray that still has a top. Those are the only ones that might make it. Try using some cubes next time too. Tops and cubes will increase your results.

Sent from Northern Colorado.

I've found it easier to cut 'big' right from the top of the donor plant.
1/4'' to 5/16'' (5mm-8mm) seems ideal. 5-8' long.
90-100% success rate.
If using rockwool, should only be 4-5x it's dry weight when wet or the wool is too wet.

Maybe check 'al b fuct'. He has a cloning thread.
Good luck.

alright, half assed attempt on my part will not cut off tops in the future. I actually took like 2 or 3 cuts off of every small branch. I have a better idea what i'll do in the future now. I'll get rr's and not cut off tops. Thanks for the advice.

Try cloning in an aerocloner. Soil was always too slow for me. Keep your temps kinda low and no direct light, it heats things up. Once I switched to aero I had almost 100% success. I don't use gels and powders either, the cutting manufactures it's own hormone.

Are those pics of fresh cuts? Did they wilt out right after transplant? Did they come back at all?
I have heard not to clone during flower too, and the plants I took them off of are 2 weeks in 12/12. I was flying blind I don't have tops on most of them, my f up. Shoulda done at least a little more planning before trying. They really weren't wilted when i left them that i could tell. I'll know better next time.

brush it off and don't worry about it. Keep at it. Its not hard once you know what to do. Hit up youtube if you can. Plenty of walkthroughs
